Max Verstappen insists ‘it’s a bit of shame’ to see an oil leak causing the lap one chaos at Las Vegas GP.

The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix was a major success in the eyes of the media, the fans, and the participating teams. The race offered an exciting show, but while the event was a huge hit, the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, has blamed the parade cars for leaving oil on the circuit ahead of the event.

The classic cars left oil on the track ahead of the race, and like many of the F1 drivers, Max Verstappen also feels that it was the major reason for the chaotic incident that took place on lap 1 of the race. Going into Turn1, several cars collided with each other and brought out yellow flags.

Carlos Sainz was unhappy with the oil on the track and made it known during the post-race interviews that it was unacceptable. Verstappen has also recently agreed with his fellow Formula 1 driver and said, as reported by raingnews365;

The oil spill was not ideal. It was from the classic cars, from the drivers’ parade so that’s maybe something that we have to look into because that’s a bit of a shame that that happens. So I had to steer a bit left of it at the start. And yeah, after that of course we had that little moment.

Max Verstappen won the 2023 Las Vegas GP

While Max Verstappen has urged F1 to look into the oil leak issue that occurred at Las Vegas GP, from a personal point of view, he had a memorable outing around the Las Vegas Street Circuit. In a three-way battle, he was able to come out on top and win the inaugural Las Vegas GP.

Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc tried their best to hold off Verstappen but were unable to stop him. During the dying laps of the race, the Dutchman got the better of both of them and managed to win the 50-lap event by an extremely small margin. Leclerc ended up in second place.

Next up on the 2023 calendar is this year’s final race of the season, the famous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This event holds beautiful memories for Max Verstappen, and considering this fact, he will try his best to close out his campaign with a sensational win at the Yas Marina F1 circuit.
