What a “rude boy.”
Drake is being slammed for seemingly rapping about his former fling Rihanna on his new track “Fear of Heights.”
The Canadian musician raps on the controversial song released via his eighth studio album, “For All the Dogs,” on Friday, “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? / That could never be / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better it’s not me.”
He continues, apparently referencing Rihanna’s “Anti” album and its “Sex With Me” song, “I’m anti, I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average with you / Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you … / And I had way badder bitches than you, TBH.”
Fans immediately took to social media to bash Drake, 36, for seemingly calling out his famous ex, 35, so many years after they split.
The “Hotline Bling” rapper briefly dated the “Diamonds” singer in 2016, but they broke up two months later over reported scheduling conflicts.
In June 2018, Rihanna told Vogue that she and Drake were no longer friends but “not enemies either.”
It’s unclear what has changed since then that has caused the “One Dance” singer to seemingly call out the “Love on the Brain” songstress.
“Drake rapping about Rihanna in 2023 and sounding as mature as he did in 2013 is as disappointing as it is predictable,” one person tweeted.
“drake dissing rihanna on the album is crazyyyy 🤣 he’s so salty i’m weaaaaaak,” another added.
A third wrote, “‘Drake dissed Rihanna’ my baby she is somewhere changing diapers for the 20th time this morning… that lady does not gaf lmfao,” referencing how Rihanna recently welcomed her second child, Riot, with her longtime boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. The couple also share a 1-year-old, RZA.
Page Six reached out to Drake’s reps for comment on the backlash or clarification on whether the track is indeed about Rihanna, but they declined to comment.
The “God’s Plan” rapper has not addressed the criticism himself, but instead he shockingly revealed during a radio interview Friday morning that he is taking a break from music.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” he said on SiriusXM’s “Table for One.”
“I’m gonna be real with you: I need to focus on my health, first and foremost. … Nothing crazy, but just, like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life.”
Drake indicated that some of the health struggles he’d be dealing with pertain to stomach problems.
“So, I’ma lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is,” he concluded before noting that perhaps his hiatus will take about “a year.”
Drake’s latest controversy involving Rihanna comes on the heels of his feud with Halle Berry, who did not condone him using an image of her covered in slime for his song “Slime You Out.”
The Oscar winner said via Instagram last month, “That’s not cool. I thought better of him!”
Reps for Rihanna did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
