In a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 twist following a tragic helicopter crash in Kenya, thieves have reportedly targeted the home of a Florida couple who lost their lives in the accident. The Coral Gables residence of Henry Parra, 55, and Adam Hlavaty, 42, was ransacked, with thieves making off with luxury vehicles and priceless artwork.
Authorities have identified Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Perdomo, 24, as the individuals behind the break-in, which occurred between Thursday and Saturday after the couple’s untimely demise. The pair was among seven victims who perished in the helicopter crash while on a safari adventure last Wednesday.
According to police reports, the burglars not only looted personal items, including jewelry and electronics, but also stole a 2023 Land Rover and a 2020 Porsche Taycan belonging to the couple. Investigators tracked the stolen MacBook and Land Rover, leading them to a nearby residence where both vehicles were found parked.
Inside the home, authorities discovered several valuable artworks, including a sculpture valued at approximately $500,000, along with tools believed to be used for creating fraudulent documents. They also recovered a Ford F-150 truck that had been reported stolen from Indian County.
While the police report mentions the helicopter crash, it remains unclear how the suspects became aware of the couple’s passing prior to the burglary. Both Garcia and Perdomo now face multiple felony charges, including burglary and grand theft auto.
During a court appearance, Garcia’s attorney presented a document allegedly signed by one of the crash victims, claiming permission to use the vehicles and access the property. However, family friends and a detective expressed skepticism about the document’s authenticity, noting that the couple had been out of the country when it was supposedly signed.
Lauren Bailey, a close friend of the victims, described the scene as devastating, highlighting the damage done to the home and the feeling of violation experienced by the couple’s family upon their return. The judge, sharing concerns about the validity of the presented document, ordered that both suspects be held without bond.
The helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of notable figures including Telemundo executive José Suárez and Ecuador’s intelligence agency director Michele Sensi-Contugi, is still under investigation, leaving many questions unanswered. What will happen next in this unfolding story?
