He may have retired from football, but he’s proving he’s still a champion when it comes to love.

Former Arsenal player Robert Pirès, 40, was spotted basking in the Greek sun with his French model wife Jessica Lemarie as the couple enjoyed a romantic getaway in Mykonos.

Robert and Jessica, who have two children together, showed off their impressive physiques as they lounged together in the scorching Mediterranean heat on Thursday.

Retired French international player Robert showed off the results of his years as a top sportsman when he donned just a small pair of grey shorts and a black cap flipped backwards as he relaxed by the sea.

The minimal clothing allowed the bearded football legend to display his fit physique, including his impressive washboard abs.

His brunette wife was equally alluring, going for a black bikini top, with leopard-print bottoms.

With her hair tied back into in a relaxed bun, the stunner showed off an intricate tattoo, which ran from her neck to the small of her back.

And as they splashed around together in the warm waters, the couple proved that romance is still very much alive for them as they enjoyed a passionate kiss.

Robert was also attentive with his wife, gently massaging her feet as she floated on her back in a shallow part of the sea.

Earlier this month, he attended his wife’s nude photoshoot with French photographer Jean Philippe Piter.

Jessica shared a shot on Instagram of the shoot in progress, along with the caption: ‘Behind the scene with my bodyguard. Thx to @jeanphilippepiter2 got those amazing pics!!!’

The Gunners icon hung up his boots following a brief spell at Aston Villa in 2011, but the veteran is relishing a return to the game at the ripe age of 40.

He told the ISL’s offical Twitter feed: ‘I am very happy to be part of the new League when passion for football in India is on the rise.

‘It will be great to play in front of enthusiastic Indian fans as well as share my knowledge with my team-mates.’

The ISL’s inaugural season will run between October and December.
