A young African lady Samira Nohammed IBN Moro, who won a scholarship to the University of Oxford, has successfully bagged her master’s degree at the United Kingdom university.
Semira, a Ghanaian was awarded the St Antony’s DAC Scholarship to study for her masters at the University of Oxford in 2022. She was the first-ever DAC Scholarship recipient to St Antony’s at Oxford University.
She shared her achievement of successfully graduating from the University of Oxford on Twitter stating that she graduated as an Inaugural scholar. Semira bagged her master’s degree in African Studies at the university.
Her master’s thesis focused on gender, development, and media.”I graduated from the University of Oxford as an inaugural scholar. Indeed from seed to sequoia,” she tweeted.
Semira bagged her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with first-class honors at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Ghana. She was the institution’s top graduating student.
She told Face2Face that she studied African Studies for her master’s because it would help her gain a deeper understanding of the various aspects that are unique to the African continent.
She also stated that she believes that the degree would offer a comprehensive, practical solution to gender inequality and other significant cultural problems in her country and Africa at large.
