As per the latest news from Deadline, Scarlett Johansson has been enlisted by Amazon for the leading role in the limited series ‘Just Cause’. Along with playing the primary character, Johansson will also be one of the executive producers of the show. ‘Just Cause’ is based on John Katzenbach’s novel published in 1992 and has been given a straight-to-series order by the streaming platform, which is being produced by Warner Bros. TV and written by Christy Hall (known for ‘I Am Not Okay With This’).
Back in 1995, the novel was brought to life on the big screen with Sean Connery playing the leading role. Interestingly, Johansson was also part of the film as the daughter of Connery’s character. The plot revolves around a Miami journalist named Matt Cowart who receives a letter from a death row prisoner who insists on his innocence. Johansson’s role in the upcoming adaptation will be a twist on the Madison Madi Cowart character, adding a female perspective to the story. Expect a thrilling investigation that unravels dark secrets and terrifying truths lurking beneath the surface.
