90 Day Fiancé cast member Statler Riley is asking for the cancelation of Brandan DeNuccio and Mary Demasu-ay from the franchise. Irving, Texas resident Statler is a 32-year-old who was introduced in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 6. Statler was in a long-distance relationship with British woman Dempsey Wilkinson, whom she met on a dating app. Statler was adopted when she was born and said she was living with ADHD. She also took a keen interest in creepy crawlies, and those who follow her on Instagram know that Statler is an animal rights activist.

Statler got her happily ever after with Dempsey. The couple dealt with a rough patch when Statler surprised Dempsey by telling her about her plans to move to the UK. The women also disagreed on whether they would have a baby in the future. Regardless, Statler and Dempsey were a drama-free couple, unlike their counterparts Brandan and Mary. Mary and Brandan have stayed in the spotlight due to their fast pregnancy, which came only three months after Brandan’s arrival in the Philippines. However, now, it’s for a different reason that Brandan and Mary have created controversy.

In August 2023, InTouch reported Statler doing a TikTok Live where she commented on Brandan and Mary. She reportedly claimed that Brandan and Mary had been fired from the show. She supposedly said it was because Brandan and Mary spoiled their storyline by revealing too much personal information online. Brandan and Mary likely signed NDAs to keep their relationship details under wraps. However, neither Brandan, Mary, nor Statler said anything about the rumors when the publication contacted them.

Statler Wants Brandan & Mary ‘Canceled’ For Animal Abuse

More recently, Reddit user austinstoy spotted a chained monkey in several videos posted by Mary and Brandan on their social media. The viewer shared screenshots of a video titled, “A NORMAL DAY,” that Mary posted on October 21, 2023. It showed Mary feeding a banana to the monkey she referred to as her “pet.” The animal appeared to be chained to a tree branch outside Mary and Brandan’s house in the Philippines. Statler came across the news about Brandan and Mary’s chained pet. She reposted a photo of the monkey on her Instagram story alongside a picture of the couple.

“They should be canceled from all things 90 Day Fiancé,” Statler declared (as shared by austinstoy). She added, “disgusting to chain a monkey – a wild animal- and claim it’s b/c it’s a pet.” Statler continued, “Shame on them. Canceled.” Statler added a zoomed-in shot of the monkey and encouraged other 90 Day Fiancé cast members to call out and cancel Mary and Brandan for “outright illegal animal abuse.” Statler asked fans to report the couple to the authorities. She shared a Facebook link, so they could contact the police in Candoni, Philippines.

90 Day Fiancé Fans Support Statler

However, other fans told the commentator that Statler simply wanted to help the helpless by getting the wild animal rescued. “I mean, I agree with her. What they’re doing to that poor monkey is abuse,” wrote Princessss88. Per Starcasm, Brandan and Mary supposedly freed the monkey on October 29, 2023. However, the video they posted documenting the release also had a link to their PayPal account.

Statler shared a separate statement reacting to the release of the monkey. She pointed out that the monkey is a long-tailed macaque and is listed as an endangered species in 2023. She wrote that it is one of the “most illegally traded monkeys and will go for a price.” She reminded fans that Mary and Brandan are willing to do “just about anything” to make a quick buck. Statler called the 90 Day Fiancé couple “really bad (morally & just dumb) con artists.”
