When he’s hurt he lashes out. That’s why Young & Restless viewers should be on high alert mid-week when Adam receives a “rude awakening”. If the wayward Newman reacts is his typical manner to the latest slap to the face, absolutely everything could come crashing down!

In a candid conversation with Sally, Adam came clean and admitted that his recent humble pie tour, which has landed him back at Newman working from the ground up as an assistant, was a ploy to regain access to the inner circle so as to eventually take his revenge. Victor, of course, turfed him from the company after discovering that he was blackmailing Newman Media’s Audra Charles in an attempt to retake control of the media division he started up from the remnants of Ashland Locke’s Cyaxares.

Adam became a model citizen as he took his verbal lumps from various family members and worked to try and convince them he really, most sincerely had changed this time. He’s also been a model employee, toiling away as Nate’s assistant and anticipating his every corporate need. A clever deception that might have worked given time, and had a stunning monkey wrench not been thrown into the mix.

It all started one day when Adam was walking out of his father’s office with Nate and Victor called out to him, but addressed him by his brother’s name instead of his own. Odd, but easy enough to brush off — until a puzzling scene unfolded in Society, where Victor raged at Adam and fired him again, before forgetting all about it five minutes later. After conferring with his brother, Adam learned that Victor had also apparently forgotten that Adam and Sally had lost their baby. Suddenly, Adam was desperately concerned about his dad, which was not a twist he’d anticipated.

Young & Restless viewers know that Victor is faking, and now Adam’s siblings do as well, but they’re leaving him in the dark.

In recent scenes with Sally, Adam opened up about his fears for his father. He not only spoke with a psychiatrist about his worries, but he confided in his ex-girlfriend that he has been blaming himself for pushing his father over the edge with his last misstep.

So, we know Adam’s terrified for his father and that his concern is genuine. So, how will he feel if he finds out, not only that Victor is feigning memory loss to “test” his children, but that his siblings, Nick and Victoria, uncovered the ruse and didn’t bother to loop him in? We’re gonna guess he will feel betrayed at best, and an unhappy Adam is not good for anyone.

Young & Restless spoilers indicate that Adam is in for a “rude awakening” this week and we can only cringe imagining his reaction to such a gut-punch reveal.

On the other hand, given that Nikki, Nick, and Victoria have committed to keeping Adam in the dark in hopes that he’ll fall into Victor’s trap, that may not be the slap to the face that’s coming up so soon. Instead, it could involve Sally.

As Young & Restless fans are well aware, Adam and Sally hit the sheets at the end of last week and he’s probably thinking that they’re well on the road to getting the dream team back together — but what if he finds out he’s wrong?

We all know that Sally’s been well and truly torn between the two Newman brothers, so she may decide that making love with Adam was a mistake. Nick stepped back to allow her to choose. What if Adam is blindsided by Sally declaring herself to Nick once again?

It all comes back to the same common denominator — when Adam is hurt he lashes out and everything he’s worked toward tends to be thrown into a spiral, usually of the downward variety. He’s managed to keep himself on an even keel lately, but that’s all at risk if this shock he receives hurls him back into revenge mode.
