Jason – who was in a relationship with Zoe’s mother Lisa Bonet for 12 years – is delighted for the couple and already considers his friend Channing ‘family’.
‘Jason is beyond happy about Zoe and Channing’s engagement,’ a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘Zoe is a daughter to him and Channing has been one of his best friends for years, long before [Zoe] was dating [him].’

The Game of Thrones alum is said to feel like he helped bring the lovebirds together, with the source adding: ‘Jason can’t help but try to take credit for their engagement.’
They continued: ‘Zoe looks up to Jason like a father, and Jason and [her biological father] Lenny Kravitz are also close. It’s a very modern family situation.
‘To welcome Channing into their family is the best thing ever because he already considers him family.’
According to the insider, the entire family is ‘thrilled’ and looking forward to an ‘epic’ wedding.
Speculation about Channing and Zoe’s engagement first emerged over the weekend when the actress was seen sporting a large ring as she and her beau left Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party.
Multiple sources then confirmed the news to People this week.
The newly ‘engaged’ couple were first rumored to be dating in early summer 2021 when Zoe cast Channing in her directorial debut, P***y Island.

Channing was married to his Step Up costar, Jenna Dewan, for 10 years. They welcomed daughter Everly in 2013 before they divorced in 2019. He went on to date British singer Jessie J.
Zoe tied the knot with actor Karl Glusman in 2019 but called it quits 18 months later.
Zoe opened up about Channing in an interview for GQ’s 2022 Men of the Year issue, hailing him ‘a wonderful human’.
