Cressoni Theater opened in 1807, then built into a cinema and closed in 1997. Before that, local officials planned to demolish this structure and build a high-end residential area. However, after discovering the pot of gold, Italian officials ordered a postponement of construction to support excavation work in case there were more ancient treasures buried underground.
