Will Jay Monahan go ahead without any further PIF negotiations? The PGA Tour has already released its 2025 schedule of FedEx Cup regular-season and playoff events this Wednesday. There are only a few minor changes to its lineup of the total 39 events for the upcoming season. There will be the usual four majors, eight signature events, and FedEx Cup points for the ultimate weeks.
Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, and other players will all be set to once again go through the events after a break followed by the playoffs. However, it has been quite some time since Tiger Woods made an appearance and it looks like, his fans will have to wait for quite some more time to see him play.
Tiger Woods to play at the Genesis Open next?
Tiger Woods has only appeared in 12 competitive starts since he got into the car crash back in February 2021. It gave him life-threatening injuries that had him struggling to play golf. This is the reason why he has been playing only a select few events on the Tour. This season, Mr. T started with a late start at the Genesis Invitational in February.
However, he ended up withdrawing after the second round because he was suffering from flu-like symptoms. He participated in a total of five events, which included the four majors. He bagged the last position (60) at the Masters and ended up missing the cut in the other three. Well, in the 2025 season, his schedule will pretty much be the same.
Tiger Woods had promised that his last appearance would be at the Royal Troon, and well he stood by it. Looks like the next season too will be having a similar pattern as he wishes to put more focus on the Majors. Tiger Woods might appear in February 2025, and his fans will have to wait for a six months round to see him on the greens!

Although his fans had hopes of seeing him at the FedEx Cup Playoffs competing in the best of the best field for the final three weeks. However, Woods will not be seen at all in any competitive events this year. But, what made him miss the playoffs?
Tiger Woods is not eligible for the FedEx Playoffs 2024
Tiger Woods will not be appearing for the final PGA Tour events – The FedEx Playoffs since he is not eligible. Only the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup standings can compete at the St. Jude Championship that starts on August 15. However, due to his limited appearances in the events, and his failure to bag a win, he finished in the 223rd position, acquiring just eight points for the season.
Tiger Woods, although will not be seen at any competitive events this season, has promised to make an appearance at the PNC Championship with his son Charlie Woods in December. He also humorously dubbed it as his ‘fifth major’. He might also be seen at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which is an invite-only tournament that he hosts at the Albany resort.
