Lady Gaga got herself a real Mexican Wave during a visit to the North American nation.
The superstar singer, 25, was pictured learning to surf with some friends this week and she appeared to take to it like a duck to water in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, managed to maintain her footing while riding a medium sized wave gliding through the water and keeping her balance in elegant style.

The Bad Romance star wore a small wetsuit while out on the water, but soon decided to sack it off and switch to a miniscule two piece black bikini.
She then returned to the water in her tiny swimwear, which appeared to give her more room for maneuver and would have pleased her large army of admirers.
It certainly π eπ₯ed up an otherwise run of the mill day of surfing at the Mexican beach.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun newspaper, and as can be seen in the pictures, Gaga took to surfing with ease.
The source apparently said: ‘For a relative beginner she took to surfing really well.
‘She started quite slowly learning how to body-board and then she was able to work up to standing – she made excellent progress.
‘She has been very relaxed since she arrived at the resort and is looking to unwind from her punishing timetable on the road.’

Gaga is usually more likely to be surfing crowds than waves, but it’s clear she has an aptitude for using surfboards.
She allegedly splashed out on a Β£4,250-a-night hotel suite in Mexico, with insiders claiming her surfing lesson cost Β£145.
As well as learning to surf, Gaga unveiled the promo to her new single, You And I, earlier this week – in which she appears dressed as a man and a topless mermaid.

The singer, sporting black trousers and long platinum blonde hair, sings alongside a jazz band for the clip to promote next Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

In the arty promotional black and white video, the singer ends her strip with protecting her modesty with a song sheet as she looks into the camera in the middle of a large ‘M’ for MTV.
The star will be the opening performer at the MTV ceremony, which is due take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on August 28.
She is nominated for four VMAs, including Best Female Video and Best Video With a Message for Born This Way, as well as Best Art Direction and Best Choreography for Judas.

‘It means the world to me,’ Gaga said of being asked to open the show. ‘I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans.’
The topless promo is one of four that the star has filmed for the network.
Other clips include Gaga discussing her musical inspiration along with her attitude to writing music.
In another scene the star tell viewers: ‘Sometimes I’m really happy when I write music, and sometimes I’m really angry. Sometimes I’m really drunk and sometimes I’m super sober. You never know why or if you write music.’
