Michael Chandler is ready to punish Conor McGregor this Summer. If you were to ask him, perhaps, he has been ready for this moment all his life. Especially now more than ever that ‘The Notorious’ has announced his return yet again this coming Summer.
So, will their fight actually end up happening? Chandler is now certain that the ambitious match will go down in Summer and he’s already doing all he can trying to sell it before a deal is even signed. Here’s what he had to say to the Irishman as he awaits the official announcement by the UFC.
Michael Chandler recently spoke with Fight Joe to discuss his plans in the UFC and he had a fiery message for Conor McGregor ready. The lightweight fighter has left no stones unturned in trying to bring the Irishman back to the cage and perhaps now, he’ll finally have his shot.
“The direct message to Conor is get your ass in the gym because I am coming,” he said. “I am coming this summer to do an as* whopping of biblical proportions, the likes of which nobody has ever seen and I’m extremely excited about it, I’m excited for the entire world to be watching. . .”

“you guys and the UK fans as well, whether you love me or you hate me, you gotta at least respect the grind. . .” Clearly, the lightweight fighter isn’t holding back when it comes to bringing the attention to himself and his commitment to this fight.
McGregor on the other hand has been much more casual about it all. He’s not called Chandler out as often or as strongly as his opponent has. He accepts that his fight would be against Chandler but his behavior almost looks like he isn’t too sure about it either. Does that mean there are other names in the line?
Will McGregor fight someone else?
Michael Chandler would be rather disappointed if Conor McGregor ended up fighting someone else entirely. Say, a trilogy fight between him and Dustin Poirier? Poirier has recently beaten the brakes off of Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299.
Would this fight be a possibility? It’s an interesting prospect but perhaps it’s a bit far away from reality. McGregor has asked to come back to the cage at middleweight this time since he’s already conquered the lightweight division once.
Does that mean he will fight Michael Chandler after all? Or will he fight another middleweight fighter to find a title shot a bit faster? What are your thoughts?
