Nicole Kidman, 56, strips down to Dolce & Gabbana lingerie for racy ELLE cover shoot as she spills all on her ‘deeply intimate relationships’

Nicole Kidman is the cover star for ELLE’s April 2024 Impact Issue, wowing in a series of racy designer looks as she devles into her ‘deeply intimate relationships’.

The Oscar winner, 56, poses for one shot in £1,500 Dolce & Gabbana lingerie, lying seductively on a mirror.

Another photo sees her in a Basic Instinct pose, but dressed in a draped £5,900 Loewe as she pouts for photographer Mario Sorrenti.

In the accompanying interview Nicole gushes about her happy place in life as she reveals the fulfillment she gets from her relationships.

‘I have a very full life with people that I love,’ she exclaimed. ‘I’m raising daughters. I’m a wife, I’m a best friend. I’m a sister, I’m an aunt. I have deeply intimate relationships with people.’

‘And that, to me, is the meaning of life—and then taking care of what we leave behind, who we leave behind and how we do that, and our sense of respect for that.’

Nicole’s next project is the  Amazon series Expats, which sees her playing a mother after her son has gone missing in a Hong Kong night market.

While it was a harrowing job for the mother of four, she admitted she is grateful for the life lessons her career has taught her.

‘I’m fortunate that I’ve got a job where I get to explore emotional landscapes that are heavy, strange, extraordinary, bizarre, beautiful, deep,’ she said. ‘I don’t shy away from them, partly because I’m committed to examining life, what it means to be alive and feel.’

There are some sides of her job which Nicole is more keen to escape though, as she added that after a glam red carpet on the promo trail, or a fashion party she is always keen to get home to her bubble.

She explained: ‘It feels a little unreal at times. I want to get out, take my dress off, and put my jammies on. It’s kind of like the opposite of Cinderella—I’m happy to go home and just go back to me.’

‘It does feel a little overwhelming. I’m like, “I need to go home now. I’m very tired. I want to get warm, and I want to curl up, and I want to feel real.”‘

Nicole lives in Tennessee with husband Keith Urban and their two teenage daughters Sunday and Faith, and that is the life she relishes, taking part in school donation drives and joining in with community projects.

‘I like being a part of something not about my work, not about who I am, none of that. Just a citizen who’s in the world. And my kids love that, too, when I do that,’ she said.

As for life at the family home, Nicole is loving that her daughters are paying more and more attention to her work, with Sunday recently pushing her to make a third season of her smash hit show Big Little Lies.

‘My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, “Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third,’ she revealed, adding that her teenager has even given notes on character development.

‘She’s like, “Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise.”‘
