2024 Cast Changes – Massive Returns, New Characters & Recasts, Multiple Exits

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that 2024 has been a busy time in the land of Port Charles, and only a mere two months have passed so far! From familiar faces to new names (and new names to familiar faces), the soap has been a flurry of activity as characters come, go, return, exit for a little while, and leave for good (or for now …).

General Hospital Spoilers – Massive Character Returns In 2024

GH spoilers note that fans have enjoyed some nice character returns so far this year.

While Cameron Webber (William Lipton) came back to Port Charles under some difficult circumstances in Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) memorial this past February, it was still nice to see him in town.

He left the show in March 2023 to attend Stanford University and this past February marked the first time he had been back.

Meanwhile, as a recurring character, the mob Queen Bee herself, Selina Wu (Lydia Look) isn’t seen as often as fans like, so it was nice for her to re-appear on screen in February of this year, as it looks like her organization, much like Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) is being targeted.

Speaking of a mystery assailant, GH fans are on a countdown right now to welcome Jason Morgan back in the land of Port Charles!

My favorite actor Steve Burton, announced his return during the show’s 60th anniversary primetime special in January, and everyone’s looking forward to his big comeback on Monday, March 4.

GH Spoilers – Welcome To Port Charles – New Faces In 2024

GH spoilers note that there have been a couple of new faces in town, starting with Natalia Rogers-Ramirez, played by All My Children alum, actress Eva LaRue. She entered the canvas in late February of this year, playing Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) mom.

More recently, GH swerved fans by placing a new face on a popular character, and it wasn’t until the very end of the episode of the actor’s debut that viewers finally understood who this handsome and charming person was.

Actor Adam J. Harrington joined the soap in February of this year as John “Jagger” Cates, causing quite a stir in the process as he has zero resemblance to the OG “Jagger” who made the role what it is, actor Antonio Sabato Jr.

With that being said, while no one can replace “Jagger”, Adam is doing a great job evolving the character as “John -FBI” Cates.

General Hospital Spoilers – Goodbye For Now – Character Exits

This year so far has been explosive for character exits. First and foremost, Spencer’s presumed death after he toppled over a cruise ship with Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), in an attempt to save his love Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), was shocking.

Actor Nicholas Chavez has exited the show temporarily, as he’ll be filming the Netflix series, Monster, about the Menendez brothers.

Spence and Nicholas will be back at some point; however, ABC confirmed that actress Avery Pohl (Esme) officially exited the show, and that the January 31 episode was her last.

With Esme and Spence out of the picture, it looks like Nikolas Cassadine, played by Adam Huss, has also exited the canvas, for now.

Nik returned to town to console his mom Laura Collins (Genie Francis) over Spencer’s passing in February but quickly left storylines when he turned himself in for Esme’s kidnapping.

As he’s in prison, Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) will officially be adopted by Laura and her husband Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) in the interim.

Speaking of Laura, her brother, Martin Grey has also temporarily exited the canvas. Actor Michael E. Knight has left the show; however, reports reveal he will be back at some point, but the exact date is unknown.
