Striker Kylian Mbappe believes that it was the PSG Board of Directors who revealed his departure from the club to the media before the two sides agreed. This made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
In mid-February, reputable sources simultaneously said that Kylian Mbappe would leave PSG after this season . The French captain even informed this to president Nasser Al Khelaifi.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is the latest to update this information on his personal Twitter page: “Kylian Mbappe has now informed PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi that he will leave the team as a free player. due. The terms of his departure have not yet been fully agreed, but he will leave Paris in the summer. Mbappe will not fulfill his commitment to the club.”
This decision is 100% confirmed as Nasser Al Khelaifi was announced today. PSG and Mbappe will discuss leaving in the coming months. Real Madrid is currently pursuing Mbappe with confidence to complete this deal.”
This is something that has been predicted for a long time because 2023/24 is the final season of the contract between the French striker and Les Parisien. Since most reputable sources confirm that Mbappe will leave PSG, it is likely that the French club itself revealed this information to the media. Most recently, L’Équipe newspaper said that the 25-year-old striker was dissatisfied with PSG and said that it was the management team that revealed the above information to the media before the time the two sides committed to each other.
Mbappe is worried that PSG will again find a way to prevent him from leaving. In 2022, Les Parisien successfully convinced Mbappe to extend for another 2 years and then continued to “solicit” the striker to activate the extension clause. Many attractive offers were made, but Mbappe refused them all.
According to assessments, Mbappe believes that PSG revealing information about his departure before the agreed time will disadvantage him when negotiating with a new club, most likely Real Madrid. According to Spanish media, Mbappe has agreed to sign a contract with Los Blancos until 2029, receiving a salary of 15-20 million euros/season with bonuses.
Recently, Mbappe was taken off the field for 2 consecutive matches. Responding to his decision, Luis Enrique said the whole team had to get used to not having the French striker. Mbappe has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, accounting for 86% of Les Parisien’s total goals.
