Saudi Arabia newspaper: Ronaldo pays the price for his offensive actions

Ronaldo will likely be suspended for his offensive actions during and after the match between Al Nassr and Al Shabab on February 26.

According to Sport , the Saudi Arabia Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee is preparing to suspend Ronaldo for two matches and require the superstar to pay a fine for his offensive actions in the match in round 21 of the Saudi Pro League.

Previously, the Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) opened an investigation against Ronaldo, after Al Shabab sent a complaint to the organizers of the Saudi Pro League .

Ronaldo was fiercely criticized.

Ronaldo stirred up public opinion in the Middle East. Journalists simultaneously criticized the player born in 1985 and accused him of disregarding and insulting football and the people of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi journalist Walid Al-Farraj said: “Normally, the Disciplinary Committee will not make decisions based on footage from the stands but only consider evidence from live television. However, Ronaldo’s actions affect the reputation of the tournament. More seriously, it will encourage ugly actions in the future. Even the Disciplinary Committee is being pushed into a corner right now.”

For his part, sports critic Ali Al-Marshoud said: “It was an act of ridicule, contempt for fans and obscenity, directly affecting Al Nassr and Ronaldo’s own image.”

Sharing the same opinion, sports analyst Nasser Al-Jadaie said: “There needs to be a penalty for Ronaldo. He is representing the entire project of upgrading the Saudi Arabia National Championship.”

On the morning of February 26, Ronaldo continued to celebrate excitedly. The 39-year-old striker headed towards the Al Shabab fans’ area and recreated the offensive celebration in the Juventus match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in 2019.

Not stopping there, fans also recorded many more actions of Ronaldo after the final whistle. The former MU star put his hand on his ear to respond to the crowd of fans chanting “Messi, Messi”. In addition, CR7 also performed another confusing action when he spread his legs and continuously moved his hands up and down.
