The changes led to Hojlund’s transformation

Rasmus Hojlund has been in very good form since the beginning of 2024 to help Manchester United have a 7-match unbeaten streak so far.

The double against Luton Town helped the Danish striker become the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League matches. This is truly a memorable milestone for this 21-year-old striker, and Man United also benefits a lot from it.

Rasmus Hojlund moved to play for the Old Trafford team from Atalanta with a contract worth up to 73.9 million euros (according to Transfermarkt) last summer, with a lot of expectations. However, he did not have any Premier League goals before Boxing Day.

Hojlund is the inspiration of Man United.

But the goal that ended Aston Villa that day started an impressive scoring streak for the player born in 2003. Since entering the new year, he has been directly involved in 8 goals in the Premier League. England, more than any other player.

So what led to this transformation Hojlund? First, the number of shots and the quality of his shots increased significantly . Before the Boxing Day match, he had just 1.3 shots per game, but since scoring against Villa, that number has increased to 1.8.

In the first 14 matches this season, the Danish player launched a total of 18 shots, of which only 7 times the ball hit the target. But 6 matches later, Hojlund hit the target 9 times out of 11 shots he took, with the ball going into the net 7 times. The conversion rate is 63.6% and the accuracy is 81.8%.

Another factor that has helped his performance flourish recently is that his connection with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford has improved significantly. Since Erik ten Hag eliminated Antony to rely on the above trio, Manchester United ‘s attack has been extremely effective.

The chemistry with Rashford and Garnacho helps Hojlund a lot.

In addition to 7 goals, Hojlund also had 2 assists this year, and they were both for Rashford. Before Boxing Day, the Danish striker made only 0.8 key passes per Premier League match, but the number has increased to 1.8 since then.

This means that Hojlund also gradually integrates into the team’s general playing style. He actively moves in coordination, is ready to participate in pressure situations, and can drop down to clear the ball to create opportunities for his teammates, not just hang a hammock in the penalty area.

After all, the Danish striker is playing comprehensive football, and giving Red Devils fans the feeling that he can do anything. At only 21 years old, Rasmus Hojlund has a bright future ahead if he continues to stay focused like he has recently.
