Elbaf will have strong connections to the Sun God Nika in One Piece.
One Piece chapter 1106 was incredible in more ways than one as it tackled some of the most exciting plot points in the story pertaining to not just the Egghead Incident, but also the Giants of Elbaf, and of course, and the Sun God Nika. Fans know the giants of Elbaf to be some of the most powerful individuals that the story has ever produced and two of the most significant members of this group are Dorry and Brogy.
In One Piece chapter 1106, Dorry and Brogy arrived on Egghead Island and clearly, they mentioned that they were there for the Sun God Nika. This clearly implies that there is a transcendent connection between the Giants and Nika and, looking back in the story, there have been other hints at this as well.
Elbaf’s Winter Solstice
Since One Piece has not yet tackled the Elbaf arc, there isn’t much that the fans know about this country, however, this particular place has been talked about quite a lot by many characters in the past. Going as far back as two decades, the Arabasta saga introduced Elbaf to fans for the very first time and it was then that Dorry and Brogy first mentioned this amazing place. Moving forward, in the Water Seven Saga, the mention of Elbaf came again through Oimo and Kashi and it has, since then, continued in the story. After the timeskip, fans knew for sure that the Straw Hat Pirates would end up going to Elbaf and these links strengthened even further in the Whole Cake Island arc, when fans got to witness a proper flashback of Charlotte Linlin, one of the Emperors of the Sea.
In this flashback, fans were treated to a glimpse of Elbaf, where a 5-year-old Linlin was taking part in a Winter Solstice. It appears that in the land of Elbaf, a Winter Solstice is held every year towards the end. The Winter Solstice is a joyful festival and, to celebrate it properly, 12 days of fasting must be observed. Before the solstice begins, people eat a lot of semla to gain enough nutrition for the 12-day fast. Once the 12-day fast is over, a massive celebration is then held. This entire winter solstice festival is held to pay tribute to the sun itself, or, more specifically, to the sun god.
This is one of the biggest hints that fans got in One Piece that implies the giants of Elbaf being directly tied to Luffy, or, more specifically, Nika itself. Furthermore, there are other hints about Elbaf being directly connected to the sun god as well. When the Giant Warrior Pirate Members were about to be executed by the Marines, Mother Carmel, who threatened war to the Navy because of this execution, made it quite clear to everyone that the delay in execution was a miracle from the Sun God. When these words were uttered, everyone around her, including the Giants, started respecting the fact and, from there onwards, it was established that the Giants of Elbaf worship the god of the Sun.
In the world of One Piece, fans already know that there is only one God of the Sun and that is, Nika. Nika was first mentioned properly in the Wano Country arc of One Piece. However, worshiping the Sun God isn’t something that was made up in Wano. In fact, going as far back as the Skypiea arc of One Piece, it was clear that the winged races of the Skypiea and even the Shandians believed in the Sun God. Furthermore, as the story continued, more races started revealing themselves to believe in this deity, and the giants of Elbaf were certainly no different. This in itself implies that there is a lasting time between Nika, the former Joy Boy, and the giants of the One Piece world.
Why Elbaf Worships The God Of the Sun
The reason as to why Elbaf worships the God of the Sun is likely very simple. When taking everything into consideration, the only conclusion that one can come up to is that Nika was an ally of the giants of Elbaf, or, he was one of them, at the very least. Fans already know quite a bit about Nika’s personality. It is believed that he went from place to place spreading laughter and joy and freeing people from their miseries.
He was the warrior of liberation and brought freedom to whoever was suffering in chains. Nika also befriended many people, especially those who were abused by the powerful. As such, Nika started being worshiped as a god by many in the world and, it is highly likely that the case of those of Elbaf was the same.
It is likely that Nika helped Elbaf greatly in the past and that is why he’s held in such high regard. Even though Nika died long ago, the legend of Nika was passed down from one generation to another. Perhaps, the Giants of Elbaf knew that Nika would come back one day, and they were waiting all this time for his arrival. This is strengthened even further by the statement that Vegapunk made towards the end of One Piece chapter 1106. According to Vegapunk, people have been waiting for centuries for Nika’s return, and that in itself is proof enough that the giant were one of these people as well and that is why Dorry and Brogy are currently on Egghead.
Elbaf And Nika
Given that Dory and Brogy are currently on egghead, fans already know that One Piece will heavily delve into the connection between Giants and the Warrior of Liberation, Nika. As the story continues from here onwards, Luffy and his group will most likely try to escape to Elbaf. For that, they will have to somehow get rid of Saturn and Kizaru. Once that is completed, Luffy will reunite with Dorry and Brogy, which would then allow him to escape to the island of Elbaf. On Elbaf, many revelations about Nika and the past of the world will likely be made. This is especially true because even Saul, the giant who holds quite a bit of information pertaining to the Sun God and, more importantly, the people of The Ancient Kingdom and the will of D is present as well.
There are many interesting things that Elbaf will answer pertaining to the Sun God and, at the same time, the people who have always been waiting for him. Taking all that into consideration, it is clear that Elbaf is going to be a massive arc for One Piece fans and that is certainly something very exciting.
Given that the Egghead Island arc is already in its climax, fans don’t have to wait too long for this story art to conclude and for Elbaf to begin, and major revelations to be made.
