Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift played down the chances of an upcoming engagement insisting that they’re happy but it’s not the right moment.
The news comes after speculation suggested that the Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end could pop the question in the summer of 2024, less than one year after they reportedly started dating.
Further adding to rumors was a suggestion that even their close friends and family want and expect the announcement, which surprised the pair according to a source talking to US Weekly.
The summer was picked as it would be the off-season from the NFL for the Chiefs, whilst Swift would be in Europe for her Eras Tour that is due to resume in early February in Japan.
They dismissed the suggestion as they still have “a lot to discover” about each other before they make that sizeable commitment and jump together.
Who do the Chiefs play next?
The Chiefs managed to secure a postseason spot by winning the AFC West but the defending champions ended the AFC Conference in third place, behind the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills.
They finished the season with an 11-6 (.647) record, one of four teams to do so, after struggling to supply their receivers with the ball, whilst the receivers also proved to be unreliable.
In the AFC Wild Card game, they will play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, January 13 at the Arrowhead Stadium.
The tour resumes on February 7 in Tokyo before heading to Australia and Singapore before finally hitting European soil at the Paris La Defense Arena in Nanterre, France.
Swift will perform for four nights at the venue before heading to Sweden, Portugal, the UK and many other nations.
