The apparent moment Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up his knee injury is revealed with the Reds vice-captain playing for over 20 MINUTES after suffering a muscle tear

It appears that Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up the knee injury that will keep him out for ‘a few weeks’ with over 20 minutes remaining of Liverpool‘s game against Arsenal.

Reds assistant manager Pep Ljinders revealed on Tuesday that his vice-captain would be absent for a period of time after getting injured in Liverpool’s 2-0 win on Sunday.

The news comes as a huge blow to the Premier League leaders, who are already set to be without key man Mohamed Salah for a number of weeks due to his participation at the African Cup of Nations.

Footage has surfaced, meanwhile, of the moment Alexander-Arnold appeared to pick up the knock, with the 25-year-old seemingly getting injured in a duel with Gabriel Martinelli.

That happened in the 68th minute of the game, with Alexander-Arnold seeing out the remained of the match despite having suffered the blow.

Alexander-Arnold, who put in the cross that Jakub Kiwior headed into his own goal for the opener, was beaten down the left side of attack by Martinelli just as the injury happened, with it unclear if he picked up the injury in the one-on-one.

He seemed to take a few steps after the Brazilian had got round him before feeling the pain, remaining off the pitch for a few seconds as Liverpool re-gained the ball.

He limped back onto the field of play but was clearly in some discomfort, and he was beaten by Martinelli again moments later.

The defender could be notably seen limping at full time and it has now been confirmed he will be out of action for a short period of time.

The defender played the remainder of the game, putting in the cross that led to Liverpool’s first goal
