Explore the third luxury home Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has purchased for his mom dropped $3.48 million in Encino, Calif
Dwayne Johnson, the renowned actor, entrepreneur, and former wrestler, recently demonstrated his deep affection for his mother, Ata, by purchasing a new home for her in Encino, California. With an estimated net worth of $270 million, Johnson spent $3.48 million on this Cape Cod-style residence, making it the third home he has acquired for his mother, alongside one in Florida.
In an Instagram post, the 50-year-old star shared the sentimental motivation behind this generous gesture. Recalling his childhood, Johnson expressed his dislike for seeing his mom cry. He detailed the meticulous effort he and his design team put into preparing the home, ensuring that everything was new and a delightful surprise for his mother when she walked through the front door for the first time.
While Johnson has previously purchased homes for his mom, he emphasized the uniqueness of this one. Ata had expressed her desire for a permanent residence after a lifetime of traveling, making this dream home in California particularly special. Johnson quoted his mother, saying, “After a lifetime of traveling, I want this home to be my last. That’s my dream.” The actor expressed the joy of making his mother happy, welcoming her to the new home.
The recently acquired property boasts six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, spanning over 4,400 square feet. Johnson purchased the gated home in September, and his mother moved in recently. The residence features luxurious finishes, including a great room with French doors, a chef’s kitchen with navy cabinetry, Carrera marble countertops, and a living room with a fireplace and white vaulted ceilings. The primary suite offers direct access to an outdoor space, a spa bath with dual sinks, and a freestanding tub.
Described as a “bona fide Los Angeles sanctuary,” the backyard is hedge-enclosed, featuring an expansive lawn, multiple lounge areas, a built-in barbecue, citrus trees, a game area, and a pool and spa. Johnson shared videos of his mother’s first moments in the home, set to the melody of “Over the Rainbow” by the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. The videos captured Ata’s emotional reaction as she explored the thoughtful details of the residence.
Inside the home, Johnson showcased two distinctive rooms. The “Smackdown Room” displays a collection of rock and DJ memorabilia, highlighting Johnson’s illustrious career. Another room features Ata’s vintage ukulele collection mounted on a wall, alongside unearthed photographs of their ancestors from Samoa, providing a touching connection to their heritage.
Dwayne Johnson’s act of love and generosity not only reflects his success but also underscores the importance of family and creating a meaningful space for those we hold dear.
