When the TV sitcom Family Matters debuted in 1989, Kellie Shanygne Williams, the young actress who played Laura Winslow was only 13 years old. When the show ended in 1998 after nine seasons, she was 22, but now she’s a beautiful 46-year-old woman who enjoys being a wife and mom to her children.
In fact, she just recently celebrated her 13th wedding anniversary with her husband Hannibal S. Jackson. They have two beautiful children, 12-year-old Hannah and 9-year-old John, and they reportedly live in the PG County Maryland area where Kellie is originally from.
In 2006, she launched a non-profit organization called Kellie Williams Programs at Washington, D.C.’s City Arts and Prep Public Charter School to help the next generation of aspiring actors via an afterschool initiative that focuses on the fine arts. The program is for young people aged 14-20.
After Family Matters, Kellie did not give up on acting. She had several roles in various sitcoms during the 2000s including Moesha, Girlfriends, The Parkers, Eve, and more. She also appeared in the 2009 film Steppin: The Movie. Most recently, she appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap in 2015 and starred in a film called Christmas in Carolina in 2020.
