The couple played each other at the inaugural tournament for the singer’s Firework Foundation in Santa Barbara
Katy Perry has bragging rights over her fiancé Orlando Bloom!
On Monday, the singer, 38, revealed she “totally beat” the actor, 46, at pickleball during a fundraising tournament for her Firework Foundation in Santa Barbara, California.
Sharing an Instagram video of the event, Perry wrote, “My mom brought (maybe even forced) her love for pickleball upon our family, and now we’ve decided to use those pickle powers for good ⚡.”
“Yesterday @fireworkfoundation had our inaugural Light Up the Court pickleball tournament in Santa Barbara to raise money for scholarships, more camps, and programming to bring the arts to kids from underserved communities! (And not to brag, but I totally beat @OrlandoBloom in front of everyone too 😈🙃),” she continued.
The American Idol judge went on to thank everyone who took part in the tournament and sponsored the event, along with those who donated to the foundation — which she started with her sister Angela Hudson to “give [the youth] a place where they can be a kid again.”
“You’ve all helped ignite the light in some amazing kids. See you next year! 🎇🎆🫶🏻,” she concluded her caption.
In the video of the tournament, Perry and Bloom can be seen competitively taking each other on with their playing partners. Perry and her partner then celebrate their win before she goes over to console Bloom with a kiss.
The “Roar” singer dressed fittingly for the day’s events, sporting a white Firework Foundation T-shirt, green skort, white visor and green and white knee-high socks.
Joining the couple at the tournament were a whole host of famous faces, including actress Kate Hudson and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez.
Sharing Perry’s video on her Instagram Story, news anchor Sánchez, 53, wrote, “Best day playing pickle ball for an amazing cause!!!”
Per the foundation’s website, “The mission of the Firework Foundation is to empower kids from underserved communities to ignite their inner light through the arts.”
Perry and Bloom first started dating in 2016 after meeting at a Golden Globes afterparty. After taking a break in 2017, they rekindled their romance less than a year later and got engaged in 2019. Bloom proposed on Valentine’s Day with a unique flower-shaped diamond ring.
The pair went on to welcome their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020. Bloom is also dad to son Flynn, 12, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
