In a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 incident that unfolded in the bustling heart of Times Square, a woman was shot and killed by police after allegedly stabbing two individuals, one of whom tragically lost their life. The chaotic scene erupted just before 4:30 p. m.

on Monday, leaving witnesses in disbelief as they watched the 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝓂𝒶 unfold.

Pamela Cisneros, 49, reportedly attacked a 68-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman in a rapid and unprovoked assault near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue. Eyewitnesses described the panic that ensued as people fled the area, unsure of what was happening.

According to police reports, officers located Cisneros a block away, brandishing two knives and threatening them. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealed that officers attempted to engage with her for several minutes, issuing multiple commands to drop the weapons. However, Cisneros allegedly responded defiantly, stating, “I’m not dropping anything, I would rather 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 both of you.”

Despite efforts to subdue her with tasers, which were reportedly ineffective, Cisneros continued to advance toward the officers. The situation escalated quickly, prompting two officers to open fire, ultimately striking her. She was later pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

Witnesses recounted the horrifying moments that followed the gunfire. “I heard a lady screaming and then people were running like crazy,” said Hassan Abdallah, who witnessed the aftermath. “I saw an old guy, like 60, Asian.

He was standing, holding his back. He got stabbed.”

Cisneros, who had a documented history of mental health issues, had no prior arrests. The NYPD confirmed that the incident was not believed to be terrorism-related, although the motive remains unclear.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani expressed his condolences for the victims and their families during a press conference, commending the swift actions of the NYPD officers who intervened. “Our thoughts are with the families of both of these victims. We know those families’ lives have been shattered by what took place today,” he stated.
