Masked Peeping Tom Caught Secretly Watching Women Through Their Windows in the Dead of Night...

A dad of two has admitted to secretly filming women through their windows while wearing a black balaclava in the middle of the night—and police say his pattern of spying stretched on for years.

Anthony Durkan, 35, pleaded guilty to 19 counts of voyeurism at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, bringing his total offenses to 26 after earlier admitting to seven separate incidents in March.

According to court documents, Durkan’s behavior was described as a “serious and sustained course of predatory behavior” that targeted women completely unaware they were being recorded inside their own homes.

The disturbing spree ran from 2020 to 2025, with officers uncovering hundreds of videos stashed in a hidden folder on his phone.

One victim in Islington was repeatedly visited by Durkan in the early hours of January. A neighbor spotted a man dressed all in black and wearing a balaclava, holding his phone up to the windows. The entire act was caught on the neighbor’s Ring doorbell.

Weeks later, another woman saw a man recording her through her window. When she confronted him, he ran off—but doorbell footage captured him again at the scene.

Police increased patrols in the area, and eventually officers in an unmarked car spotted Durkan outside another Islington home. Searching his phone revealed the hidden gallery with images and videos of women who clearly had no idea they were being filmed.

Authorities identified a third victim through the footage, but believe there may be more women whose privacy was violated.

Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger praised the victims for their courage in coming forward, adding that their reports, supported by witnesses and quick police work, helped arrest Durkan during a proactive patrol.

“This conviction reflects the severity of these crimes and means a dangerous individual has been brought to justice, preventing further harm to women,” Alger said.

Durkan is scheduled to be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court at a later date.

With at least three victims identified but police hinting at more, how many others might still be unaware they were watched?
