The secret of Jewelry Bonney’s Devil Fruit has remained undisclosed until this point, but Eiichiro Oda has now given some much-needed insight.

One Piece has been around for a long time, and its creator, Eiichiro Oda, is great at keeping all the story’s secrets straight. He’s really good at storytelling, especially with the many special powers in the series. Now, we’re getting to know more about the Devil Fruit used by Jewelry Bonney.

Jewelry Bonney

In the past, Eiichiro Oda already showed us Bonney’s power, but he never told us what her Devil Fruit was. In the latest issue of SBS, Oda fixed this mistake. When a fan asked about the pirate’s power, Oda admitted he forgot to tell fans about her Devil Fruit, revealing it’s called the Toshi Toshi no Mi.

In SBS 107, shared on a Twitter page (translated by fan @pewpiece), Eiichiro Oda explained Bonney’s Devil Fruit and revealed its name:

“I’ve been asked many times and I noticed and thought to myself “I haven’t revealed it yet?” It’s the “Toshi-Toshi no Mi” which allows the user to freely alter ages. For the sake of those who don’t read the SBS, I need to mention this in the main story too.”

The artist said he’s been asked a lot about something and realized he hadn’t talked about it yet. It’s the “Toshi-Toshi no Mi.” For those who don’t read the SBS, he’ll mention it in the main story.

The Toshi Toshi no Mi has a Japanese name that can mean either “Age Age Fruit” or “Year Year Fruit.” The power of this Devil Fruit can affect people and things, and the years taken by this power transform into the valuable gems that Jewelry Bonney is named after.

Who is Jewelry Bonney in One Piece?

Now, in the One Piece manga, the story is really focused on Bonney and her connection to Kuma. If you’re not familiar with Jewelry Bonney, she’s a pirate from the South Blue, leading the Bonney Pirates.

She’s part of a group called the “Worst Generation” and happens to be Bartholomew Kuma’s daughter. When she arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago, her bounty was 140,000,000, which later increased to 320,000,000 after two years.

Bonney has a special power from eating the Toshi Toshi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. It lets her control the aging of living things, including herself, people, and objects.

She can change her appearance and weaken enemies by making them really old or very young, but these effects are temporary. An interesting part of her power is that the years she takes from people turn into shiny jewelry and shapes.
