Ariana Grande shared rare PDA with her boyfriend Ethan Slater at the New York City premiere of Wicked on Thursday night.
The singer, 31, and the Broadway player, 32, both star in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway musical and began dating after meeting on the film’s London set nearly two years ago.
The couple have faced affair rumors as they went public with their romance shortly after their respective divorces in 2023.
Grande has gushed over her ‘amazing’ and ‘adorable’ boyfriend while promoting Wicked, which hits theaters on November 22, despite claims that producers feared her romance with Slater would ‘overshadow’ the film.
And her love for Slater was on full display Thursday as they shared a warm hug in front of a sea of red carpet photographers at NYC’s historic Museum of Modern Art.
Grande, wearing a glamorous pink strapless gown, approached the Spamalot star while he was posing for photos with their co-star Bowen Yang.
The Dangerous Woman hitmaker first reached out for Slater’s hand before embracing him.
Slater could hardly contain his smile during the sweet moment with his pop star girlfriend.
The actor — who plays the munchkin Boq in Wicked — had one hand on Grande’s tiny waist while the other grasped onto her slender arm.
Grande did not arrive to the premiere with Slater. Instead, she arrived arm-in-arm with her Wicked co-lead Cynthia Erivo.
Grande and Erivo channeled their characters Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, with their wow-worthy red carpet looks.
Grande looked phenomenal in a pink satin peplum gown with an elegant sweetheart neckline.
The former Nickelodeon star, 31 — who has sparked concern over her appearance — accessorized with a diamond choker necklace and matching earrings.
Her golden blonde hair — which she dyed in order to play the bubbly blonde Glinda the Good — was styled in a sleek bun.
Grande rocked her go-to winged eyeliner and false lashes, which her makeup artist paired with a glossy nude lip.
Her boyfriend Ethan arrived to the red carpet event just moments after her in a chic navy blue suit.
His blazer had black lapels that matched the skinny black tie secured around the collar of his white button-up shirt.
Grande locked arms with her co-star Erivo, who put a glamorous spin on Elphaba’s iconic black frock.
The Tony Award winner, 37, modeled a billowing black gown with a sexy sheer bodice that flashed her cleavage.
She had a black pearl choker around her neck and, as another nod to the Wicked Witch of the West, she rocked glittery green eyeshadow.
Erivo wore a netted black veil over her shaved head and she eagerly showed off her dramatic fake nails, which were decked out with silver decals and green jewels.
In a recent interview, Erivo said she ‘gained a sister’ in her co-star Grande after they bonded while filming Wicked.
‘I’ve gained a sister. At this point, we speak almost every day. Both of us were blown away by how connected we were immediately,’ Erivo told ELLEÂ of her tight friendship with Grande.
‘I remember the first day we got to come together. It was at [director] Jon M. Chu’s house, and Stephen Schwartz [who wrote Wicked’s music and lyrics for both the OG Broadway musical and the film] was over.
‘He played some songs for us, and we sang together for the first time. It worked. It’s a very intimate thing to sing with someone. There’s a really beautiful dance—I need to follow you, you have to follow me.
‘It was one of the most gratifying things to know that there was someone who was that open and available, because she was, and that meant I could be as well.
‘We also had a beautiful relationship offscreen. We had really beautiful conversations, some that were not easy, but that’s what makes relationships.
‘Those hard conversations that you can have with someone that mean that you have to be vulnerable are the things that make you close.’
Grande, Erivo and Slater weren’t the only Wicked stars and celebrities to grace Thursday night’s lavish red carpet soiree.
Bridgerton hunk Jonathan Bailey — who plays Elphaba’s love interest Fiyero Tigelaar — made onlookers swoon as he posed up in a glistening white tuxedo jacket and skinny black slacks.
Jeff Goldblum, 72 — who plays The Wizard of Oz — looked chic in a black suit, dress shirt and tie as he cozied up to his wife of 10 years, Emilie Livingston.
The 41-year-old wowed beside her famous spouse in a glitzy sleeveless LBD with black stiletto heels.
Kristin Chenoweth — who originated the role of Glinda in Broadway’s Wicked back in 2003 — also showed up in support of the upcoming two-part feature film.
The Tony Award nominee, 56, looked incredible as she flaunted her toned and tanned legs in a white blazer dress with a bedazzled collar.
Her signature blonde hair was worn sleek and straight and she added height to her petite 4foot11inch frame by throwing on a pair of strappy silver heels.
Glee star Lea Michele — whose cover of Wicked’s Defying Gravity on the hit Fox TV show is iconic — exuded elegance in a sleeveless baby pink silk dress.
The outing comes less than three months after the 38-year-old actress gave birth to her second child, daughter Emery, with husband Zandy Reich, 41. The couple welcomed their baby girl on August 25.
And Michele proudly showed off her slim post-baby body during Thursday’s star-studded premiere.
She made her way around the Museum of Modern Art in pink ballet flats and with her brunette hair styled in a sleek bun.
SNL star Bowen Yang — who appears as Pfannee in Wicked — wore a classic black blazer over a white netted top decked out with colorful 3D floral decals.
The upcoming two-part feature is adapted from the long-running Broadway musical and is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz.
The motion picture is slated to arrive in theaters with release dates of November 22, 2024 for Wicked: Part One, and November 26, 2025 for Wicked: Part Two.
The Wicked cast have embarked on a weeks-long press tour that’s included premieres in Sydney and Los Angeles.
The film’s cast and crew will soon head to the U.K. for the London premiere on November 18.
