Scottie Scheffler is a formidable threat to all top-ranked golfers in the world, given his remarkable form in 2024. Having won two Majors in just two years and securing six victories in a single season, Scheffler is undoubtedly enjoying the best days of his career. He is also on the verge of breaking the record set by Tiger Woods.

In the last season, Scheffler’s adjusted average score on the PGA Tour was 68.63, the seventh best of all time. The top six records for average scoring are held by Tiger Woods, and now Scottie is in line to surpass Woods’ record with his 2024 adjusted average currently at 68.483, placing him ahead of Tiger’s sixth-best score of 68.56.

However, the 2024 PGA Tour season is yet to be complete, and if Scottie Scheffler performs well in the upcoming events, he could jump in spots in the PGA Tour’s adjusted average score.

In 2024, Scottie Scheffler recorded 3,999 strokes in 59 rounds, resulting in an average of approximately 67.78, while his adjusted average score is 68.483.

Tiger Woods tops the adjusted scoring average of all time with a score of 67.79, which he recorded in 2000. In 2007, his average score on the PGA Tour was again 67.79. The top six spots are secured by Woods, followed by Scottie Scheffler in seventh and Vijay Singh in eighth.

Here are the top 10 PGA Tour adjusted average scores of all time:

  • 1. 67.79 — Tiger Woods, 2000
  • 2. 67.79 — Tiger Woods, 2007
  • 3. 68.05 — Tiger Woods, 2009
  • 4. 68.41 — Tiger Woods, 2003
  • 5. 68.43 — Tiger Woods, 1999
  • 6. 68.56 — Tiger Woods, 2002
  • 7. 68.63 — Scottie Scheffler, 2023
  • 8. 68.65 — Vijay Singh, 2003
  • 9. 68.66 — Tiger Woods, 2005
  • 10. 68.67 — Rory McIlroy, 2022

Scottie Scheffler breaks Tiger Woods’ OWGR record

With an incredible victory at the Travelers Championship, Scottie Scheffler’s total OWGR points in 2024 are around 583 in the first six months. With that, he broke the record set by Tiger Woods back in 2000.

Woods had a phenomenal season in 2000, winning nine events, five of which were recorded in the first six months. As per OWGR guru Nosferatu on X, formerly Twitter, Scheffler has won six tournaments so far and surpassed Woods’ OWGR record.

In 2000, Tiger Woods started the year with a victory at the Mercedes Championship by defeating Ernie Els in a playoff. Before June 30, 2000, he won five events, including a Major. He won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Bay Hill Invitational, Memorial Tournament, the US Open, and the Mercedes Championship. He went on to win four more events in the latter half of 2000, including two more Majors, the Bell Canadian Open and the WGC NEC Invitational.

Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler has already won six events this year, including one Major. While Scheffler has a long way to go to match Woods’ career achievements, the current World No. 1 is going strong so far.
