Anne Hathaway wisely chose to stick to solid ground on Thursday, following a near-drowning incident the previous day when she got caught in scary ocean riptide.

But far from being bored, the star was thoroughly enthralled as she doted on her friend’s gorgeous baby boy.

Currently enjoying a romantic holiday with husband Adam Shulman on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, the pair were joined by pals for a beach day.

In fact, the couple, who married in September 2012, shared a picture-perfect moment as they shared a sweet embrace while Anne was holding the infant to her chest.

The trio could have passed for a new family with their tender display, had it not been for the child’s real parents, who were looking on close by.

She’ll make a great mom: The besotted star gave the child’s tired parents some time to themselves as she entertained the tot with a stroll along the beach, looking perfectly at ease as she toted the baby in one arm

Giving his tired parents a rest, the Oscar-winner swept the little boy up into her arms and entertained him by walking along the beach showing him the sights, before giving him a taste of the ocean as she dipped his toes into the shallows.

The 31-year-old then gave the tot back to his mother as she showed off her athleticism by performing cartwheels and doing multiple yoga-inspired stretches on the sand.

The star looked relaxed and happy and showed off her enviable toned figure in tiny pink shorts and a beige T-shirt worn over a dark bikini top.

The 32-year-old got his friend involved, too, as the pair jogged along the sand taking it in turns to carry a long wooden log across their shoulders.
