The 43-year-old is riding high after the success of his recent project ‘Road House.’ In a recent appearance on ‘Complex’ on YouTube, Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor went sneaker shopping.

Hollywood stars work very hard to get in shape and even take extreme measures to pull off a role and Jake Gyllenhaal has delivered on this end several times. One of Hollywood’s finest actors, Gyllenhaal underwent another physical transformation for his latest project ‘Road House’ as well. The 43-year-old worked extremely hard to get in shape to play the role of a retired UFC fighter. But according to him, it’s not just the physique that is important in effectively delivering a character to the audience. The wardrobe, and the footwear in particular, is of importance to the ‘Donnie Darko’ star.
During the Q and A segment, the host of Complex asked the 43-year-old about the importance of his shoes. He replied, “Oh yeah yeah footwear is essential. There’s a movie I did called ‘End of Watch’ where I was like comfortable footwear is like essential for the job. I play a police officer in that. You know I just think that yeah it says a lot obviously about your character. And also I think you sometimes want to be more comfortable or less comfortable in your shoes you know when you playing characters. There things they go through or whatever I like playing that game.”
He then had a brief chat with McGregor about some of the footwear they used in the film. McGregor revealed he had taken a liking to the pair of boots he used in the first bar fight scene. While Gyllenhaal wondered if they were comfortable for the action in the scene, McGregor had no issues with it and even highlighted the crocodile skin exterior of the shoes.

The much-awaited Hollywood project ‘ Road House’ finally aired on Amazon Prime on March 21. Both McGregor and Gyllenhaal worked insanely hard to look aesthetically pleasing for the fans. More than McGregor, 43-year-old Gyllenhaal impressed one and all with his looks as ex-UFC star ‘Dalton.’ In a recent interview with retired UFC fighter Megan Anderson, the 43-year-old shared the secret of his insane transformation. Not only did he credit his trainer but also shared his workout and diet routine.
He said, “I had an incredible trainer. Like I had all the great fun stuff like made it easy like I had a chef and a nutritionist who was helping me and so, you know, we all work very, very hard but it took a village you know.” Gyllenhaal’s trainer shared the different workouts he did including squats, deadlifts, push ups and also some functional training including sandbags.
