Ryan Reynolds Points Finger at Wrexham Co-Owner Rob McElhenney for ‘Reckless Spending’ in Sponsorship Announcement, Fans Jest About League One Money in Response.

Ryan Reynolds has mocked Rob McElhenney’s ‘reckless spending’ as Wrexham announced a new partner with an amusing video on social media.

The Hollywood A-listers, and co-owners of the League Two side posted a video to the club’s social media accounts to announce the arrival of American bank Ally as a new club partner.

However, typically for the two actors, it was no ordinary announcement video.

Instead, the pair were shown in a mock press conference to announce the new deal, where Reynolds amusingly mocks McElhenney for the amount of money he’s spending on the club.

Reynolds mockingly accuses the Always Sunny in Philadelphia star of ‘reckless spending’ and refers to him sending the players to Las Vegas, building a temporary stand and even TV show ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took to social media for an amusing announcement video

In the clip, Reynolds accuses his partner of reckless spending and lists off some examples

The amusing video was all about announcing a new banking partner for the club

The whole charade is to help announce not only Ally as the club’s new sponsorship, but also as part of the partnership, to announce that Wrexham’s women’s team will be travelling to the States for a tour.

It’s the latest venture for the club, who are aiming for a second successive promotion after finally getting out of the National League last season.

Phil Parkinson’s men are currently third in League Two, just three points off leaders Mansfield in the division’s promotion race.

Fans took to social media to react to the announcement video and comment on the pair

The video also announced that Wrexham’s women’s team would be going to the States

This latest announcement has seen fans take to social media themselves to react to the news and the way the Hollywood stars went about breaking it to fans.

With one post already suggesting the club are ‘Already lining up that League 1 money eh?’ as they hope to secure promotion this season.

Another laid praise on the pair as owners be declaring ‘If Carlsberg did chairmen’, with a similar post agreeing by saying; ‘Guys just do it right. Amazing.’

Some even suggested there is a varying view on the way the Reynolds and McElhenney are seen by fans by stating; ‘marmite but I love em’.
