General Hospital spoilers report Ava Jerome (Maura West) has been growing increasingly closer to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — a move that couldn’t have happened if Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) had not exited the penthouse on the heels of blowing up her marriage to Sonny.
In such a case, one might think Nina will only have herself to blame as she watches her so-called best friend form an alliance with the man who wants to divorce her, but that’s not how Nina will take it.
The reality is Ava has become someone Sonny can rely on, and he’s made note of the fact that she wasn’t even being a mole for Nina, despite his soon-to-be ex-wife pressuring her bestie to play the part of the middle man.
But what does the future of Nina and Ava’s friendship look like as Nina is iced out of Sonny’s life and Ava is brought deeper into it?

Sonny is running out of friends rapidly. With Brick (Stephen A. Smith) based on the West Coast, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) dead, and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) out of the mix, he can’t afford to be too picky about who he lets into his world right now.
At the same time, he trusts fewer people than ever and must be strict about whom he trusts. It will be all too convenient that the one person Sonny is starting to trust most in his personal life — Ava — also becomes easier to trust with his professional plight.
GH Spoilers – Exclaim Nina Reeves Applies Pressure
Nina isn’t going to take this lying down. Having her best friend cozy up to her husband during such a vulnerable time in their marriage will make Nina sick.
At first, she thought it might be of benefit to her that Ava was still on the inside. But once she sees the ways that it has reshaped Sonny’s relationship with Ava, Nina is going to want to set them free from each other as quickly as possible.
Still, tattling on her won’t come across well coming from her, but Nina has significant leverage on Ava knowing that Ava also knew the truth about Nina’s involvement with the SEC tip against Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and never said a word.

The sheer threat that Nina might tell Sonny the truth could lead to Ava buckling under pressure, but what does that look like?
Does it mean Ava would cut ties with Sonny and his never-ending protection, and head home to her own place — despite the risks imposed by that choice to herself and Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola)?
Certainly, Sonny would never agree to it. Otherwise, she could turn the tables on Nina and tell Sonny the truth — that his wife is trying to blackmail her to get her away from him. This could backfire in a big way and leave Nina wishing she never played with this kind of fire.
