With Olivia Dead And Gone, Will Ava Seek To Take The Reigns Of The Family Business?

General Hospital spoilers leak Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) is dead, and her sister, Ava Jerome (Maura West) seems all too keen on dipping her toes back into the dark waters of the mob.

But being there as an ally for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is a far cry from stepping into her late sister’s shoes and reclaiming a role at the head of the mafia table in the Jerome family. Ava grew up in that life and doesn’t want that for her daughter.

At the same time, she may come to recognize how valuable it could be for Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) to have not one — but two — parents monopolizing the mob. Will Ava rejoin the ranks of the family business and become the perfect pair with Sonny?

General Hospital Spoilers — Olivia Jerome Is Out

Ava was jarred but not heartbroken when she learned someone had finally taken her sister out of the equation — and this world. Olivia had been asking for it for years, if she was being honest.

The mafia boss is now no longer a factor in Ava’s world or Sonny’s, and that could leave an opening for others to move in on any territory the Jerome family still had their hands on.

While they may not have the geographical claim that Sonny does, Olivia still had hefty control over many of the people in her orbit. Can Ava absorb that now, and does she even want to?

GH Spoilers  – Claim Ava Jerome Is Warming To Sonny Corinthos’s World

Ava was all shook up when she found a gun in her penthouse that didn’t belong to her. Continued threats kept her in a state of panic, even though she only confided in Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) about them.

Ironically, it was Nina who let Sonny know Ava needed his protection, and that, in turn, may end up landing Ava in the corner that Sonny so desperately needs her in.

Without a true friend in sight, Sonny may come to rely on Ava in ways he never imagined. In return, Ava may take to feeling needed again and welcomed by Sonny for once in their years-long relationship.

General Hospital Spoilers — In Need Of An Ally

Ava hasn’t wanted anything to do with the mob world for ages. She was thrilled when her brother, the late Julian Jerome (William deVry), left it all behind for a better life, too.

The last thing Ava needs is to get herself entrenched in whatever messy business her sister has now left behind in the wake of her murder. But Ava also sees the plight that Sonny is in.

He doesn’t know who the mole is inside of his own organization, and he’s hesitant to trust anyone, while also knowing he has to rely on the people he has in place to protect him.

Can Ava offer reinforcement and intel by jumping into her late sister’s shoes? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
