Jason and Travis Kelce Speak Out About ‘Deeply Tragic’ Chiefs Super Bowl Parade

The Kelce brothers’ solemn statement comes ahead of this week’s pre-recorded ‘New Heights’ podcast episode.

Jason and Travis Kelce issued a statement addressing last week’s deadly shooting at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade in Kansas City ahead of the new release of their weekly New Heights podcast.

Text over the video read: “A message to the 92%ers & Chiefs Kingdom.”

“Attention 92 percenters,” Travis began in a video message shared to the podcast’s TikTok page on Monday, Feb. 19. “We have a pre-recorded episode for you guys coming up on Wednesday (Feb. 21), but after the tragic events at the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, it didn’t feel right without you guys hearing from us first.”

“We just wanted to say, you know, our hearts go out to all of the victims, their families, Chiefs Kingdom,” Jason said. “And really all of Kansas City that was really there on a day to try and celebrate the community.”

“It’s unfortunate and deeply tragic, the events that occurred, so we also want to thank the local law enforcement that sprang into action, the first responders on scene, and anybody that’s been willing to help those affected by this tragedy,” the Philadelphia Eagles center added.

The 34-year-old tight end noted that the podcast will be sharing a link to the Chiefs emergency response fund in its bio across social media, “Your donation goes to supporting victims and their families, violence prevention, mental health services and the first responders.”

“One of the things that’s evident is how much Kansas City is coming together and rallying around the people that have been affected by this. And one of the beautiful things that we have been doing,” Jason, 36, went on, explaining that the Kelce brothers are still “figuring out a way” for the podcast hosts to be involved. “Obviously you can donate to these links right now, but we plan on doing something in the future.”

“We’re trying to get that situated right now,” the father of three noted. “We have some ideas, just make sure you’re following and we’ll be telling you guys the ways we’re trying to get involved.”

“92 percenters, we appreciate ya,” Travis concluded. “Kansas City and Chiefs Kingdom, we love you guys, we’re with you guys and we’ll see you guys soon.”

Hours after the celebratory parade took a devastating turn and left one dead and nearly two dozen injured, a “heartbroken” Travis took to social media with a statement.

“I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today,” he wrote via X (formerly Twitter). “My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.”

A few days later, Travis and his girlfriend, international pop superstar Taylor Swift, each made $100,000 donations to the families of victims affected by the Feb. 14 tragedy. That same day, the Chiefs teamed up with the NFL, the Hunt Family Foundation and United Way Greater Kansas City, to create KC Strong–the emergency fund the Kelce brothers mentioned in this latest video–which the team graciously gifted a $200,000 donation.
