A young lady named Ogugua Nwaezeigwe has been awarded a full scholarship to study for her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hills in the United States.
Ogugua won the Eve Carson Scholarship to study for her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hiss in the United States. She shared the achievement on LinkedIn that she was chosen as an Eve Carson Scholar for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Eve Carson Scholarship was established in 2008 to celebrate junior-year students who have exhibited passion and transformative growth since enrollment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She mentioned that the scholarship, alongside financial aid, will help her fully fund her senior year adding that she is grateful for this opportunity. Ogugua is currently studying for her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in Spanish for Medical Professions.
Ogugua said she would follow a mantra throughout her time at the university: ”Learn from every single being, experience, and moment. What a joy it is to search for lessons and goodness and enthusiasm in others.”
She expressed her gratitude to everyone who assisted her throughout the application process and to everyone who believed in her and pushed her to improve.
In another story, an 18-year-old former refugee named Buraq Ahmed has won a scholarship that earned him an acceptance at the prestigious University of Cambridge to study Medicine.
Ahmed is an Iraqi refugee who moved to the United Kingdom with his grandmother at the age of three in a bid to undergo urgent medical treatment for a hip condition.
