Harry Styles And Niall Horan Stopped Their Concerts To Help Fans Who Were In Trouble

Harry Styles and Niall Horan are cherished musicians who are admired for showing genuine concern for their fans on and off the stage.

In light of the Travis Scott’s AstroWorld stampede, music enthusiasts have been pointing out how Harry Styles and Niall Horan consistently stand out as prominent musicians who prioritize their fans’ safety and well-being.

Styles and Horan are two iconic names synonymous with the phenomenon that was One Direction. They have proven time and again that their concern for their admirers goes beyond the stage as they paused their concerts to extend a helping hand to fans in need. These moments further solidify their popularity and the genuine affection they receive from their fan base.

Harry Styles Pauses His Concert Whenever He Sees a Fan in Trouble

Harry Styles has a strong connection with his fans, and he demonstrates this heartfelt bond every time he sees his fans in trouble during his concerts. On the first night of his 2017 world tour’s two-night stint at the Eventim Apollo venue in London, an incident unfolded that highlighted his genuine concern for his audience.

A fan in the crowd experienced a panic attack, causing Styles to immediately halt the concert. This incident was caught on video by another attendee and shared on Twitter. Observing that the fan had collapsed, and security personnel were trying to reach her, Styles paused his rendition of “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.”

He addressed the situation empathetically, saying, “Is everyone okay? You still with me? Do you want to help her up? If everyone could give her some space. If everyone could chill for one second, we’ll get some people.” He then requested the audience to create room for the girl by stepping back, enabling security to assist her and remove her from the crowd. After ensuring her safety, Styles checked on the overall well-being of the audience before resuming the song from the beginning.

This isn’t the first time the English pop sensation has taken such actions. In 2019, during a Los Angeles performance, he paused to aid a fan who needed medical attention. In that instance, he calmly guided the crowd to step back slowly so that medical professionals could reach the fan in need.

Fast-forward to November 2022, Harry Styles once again had to momentarily halt a live concert, this time in Bogotá, Colombia, to ensure the safety of his audience as per Daily Mail. In a crowded Coliseo Live stadium, fans were in distress, some even fainting due to the intense conditions.

Through video footage shared on social media, it’s evident that Styles took immediate action. He addressed the crowd saying, “I am very excited to be here, and I know today is going to be an amazing show. But the most important thing is that everyone in here is safe because there are a lot of people in here, and it’s warm.”

Niall Horan Stopped His Show For Crowd Safety

During one of his shows in 2018, Niall Horan began to feel uneasy about the increasingly large and active audience. He took a moment to address the situation, emphasizing, “Your security is my responsibility. We don’t want anyone getting hurt or squashed,” he said.

Horan recognized the hazardous nature of the swaying and urged for an organized approach before proceeding further, stating, “This swaying is very dangerous. It’s not gonna work for the rest of the night. Let’s organize this before we go any further, okay?”

Horan genuinely appreciates the enthusiasm of his fans who attend his tours. However, he also places a significant emphasis on their well-being and safety within the crowd. During the initial show of his back-to-back performances in Mexico City in July 2018, he decided to halt the performance momentarily after a few concert attendees experienced pushing and fainting.

According to The Sun, Horan became frustrated and upset when the crowd surged forward, causing chaos on the evening of his show. It’s reported that around 15 fans fainted, prompting the Irish crooner to deliver a warning from the stage, “Everyone needs to look after each other, or we’re going to have to cancel the show.”

He reiterated this sentiment on Twitter, posting that safety remains his primary priority and expressing that he almost had to cancel recent performances due to unruly crowds. While he did inject humor into his message, the situation is genuinely serious. His primary concern is ensuring everyone enjoys themselves in a safe environment during the Flicker World Tour.

Harry Styles And Niall Horan Previously Their Concert For An Injured Fan During Their One Direction World Tour

During their performance in Dubai back in 2015, the members of One Direction took a significant pause of nearly 25 minutes. According to SyndiGate, this decision was prompted by an unfortunate incident where a fan got hurt due to a collapsed barricade she was sitting on.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne halted their singing midway through the show at The Sevens Stadium on a Saturday night. They addressed their dedicated audience of 32,500, explaining that they couldn’t continue until a broken fence was repaired for safety reasons.

Styles addressed the crowd, expressing, “Sorry, but we have to stop for about five or ten minutes. A girl has been injured in the back. Please be patient till the barricade is mended.”

The barrier, which was set up to separate ticket-holders in the sold-out venue, couldn’t withstand the weight of teens trying to catch a glimpse of their idols. Throughout this time, Payne kept the fans informed, assuring them that there was no reason to worry. He extended gratitude for their patience as security personnel worked to resolve the situation.

As the incident unfolded, witnesses recounted the scene as enthusiastic young fans lost their balance when those on the fences fell backward to the ground. One observer shared, “She just fell backward onto the ground. Everyone was attempting to sit on the barrier or leap to the other section. That’s why it collapsed.”

After the incident, organizers Done Events stated 7Days, emphasizing One Direction’s commitment to their fans’ safety. They clarified that the show was temporarily stopped to address a breach in the barrier, which was subsequently rectified without any reported injuries. Thomas Ovesen, COO of Done Events, echoed the band’s concern for their fans’ safety, stating, “We admire and share the concern of the band members for their fans and their safety, which we share. Rather safe than sorry”.
