Liam Payne has revealed he wouldn’t know what to say to former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles anymore, as the pair have grown apart since the hiatus.

The Strip That Down star revealed he would struggle to find common ground with Harry as the pair are very different people these days.

He told The Face magazine: ‘There’s so much mystery around who he’s become. I was looking at some pictures of him the other day, and I just thought, I don’t know what more I’d say to him other than, “Hello” and “How are you?”’

Despite being in the world’s biggest boyband together for six years, and touring the world while spending every waking moment with the band, he admits they don’t really have that much in common after all.

As well as different interests, Liam also has a very different style when it comes to clothing than Hazza, admitting he couldn’t pull off the outfits Harry wears.

He explained: ‘I couldn’t put myself in that. I’d look f**king… It’d look weird.’

Musically, the pair have also developed very different styles since embarking on their solo ventures, with Liam adding: ‘I mean, look at the stuff I put out and the stuff Harry puts out. Polar opposite. I’m like the antichrist version of what Harry is.’

Following their turn on the X Factor in 2010, One Direction shot to global success and spent an intense six years touring the globe, before finally deciding to go on hiatus in 2016, a year after Zayn Malik quit the band.

Liam has also previously admitted that they didn’t all get on, describing them as ‘colleagues’ rather than friends.

He said in a previous interview: ‘One Direction was like my office, there’s one you get along with, one you don’t get along with as much.

‘There’s a misconception that we were massive mates but that wasn’t the case. Towards the end it was just about drinking and having a laugh.’
