“Klopp’s Frustration: ‘No Penalty?’ – Liverpool Manager Expresses Outrage Over Odegaard Incident

”How can you say that is not a penalty?” JURGEN KLOPP yelled after Martin Odegaard of Arsenal got away with handball.

In an exciting game at Anfield on Saturday night, the teams competing for the Premier League title tied 1-1.

Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, did not understand why his team had not had a chance to win all three points.

Martin Odegaard appeared to handle the ball against Liverpool

But neither the referee of VAR intervened

Gabriel Magalhaes, a defender, scored a huge goal for Arsenal to take the lead just four minutes in.

That is when Liverpool had a golden-foul call turned down by referee Chris Kavanagh.

The blocked free kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold went straight at Gunners captain Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard lost his balance a little, so it was clear that the ball hit his hand. It then bounced off of his hand and away from Mo Salah of Liverpool.

The Reds’ stars and everyone at Anfield yelled for a penalty, but Odegaard did not do anything about it.

The play went on, and after a long VAR check, it was ruled that it was not clear and obvious.

Salah tied the game with a stunning goal in the first half. After the game, Klopp said, “The penalty situation is a weird situation.”

“I do not know if the ref can see it, but you look at it and I am not sure how you can say it is not a penalty.”

“From a Liverpool point of view, that is always going to be a handball,” Trent Alexander-Arnold said. For some reason, the ruling did not go our way.

“I think that got us back in the game and gave us another goal.”

“We see it as a penalty but the decision did not go out way.”

On the radio, Gary Neville said that Odegaard was “lucky” and that the slip was what saved him.

But Sky Sports fans did not understand.

One posted: “Odegaard went full LeBron. “How is this not a punishment?”

“Odegaard playing basketball in the box against Liverpool,” wrote a second. Is there anything he can not do?”

A third commented: “How is this not even a penalty?”

A fourth said: “That is crazy, clear pen.”

Someone else said: “He quite literally grabs the ball and pushes it out the way.”

According to Sky Sports, PGMOL said that the penalty was not allowed because “Odegaard’s arm is moving towards the body and not the ball as he goes down.”
