A self-proclaimed “crime junkie” now faces serious charges after allegedly filming jurors at Lindsay Clancy’s high-profile trial—and her past is as heartbreaking as it is 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔. Dawn Light, 56, pleaded not guilty to aggravated intimidation of a juror, but court documents claim her history includes a devastating double loss and a bizarre grave collapse.
According to reports, Light lost her husband Daniel in 2013 to complications from ALS. Then, in January 2017, her 22-year-old son Zachary died from a seizure. While visiting his grave at Millbury’s Central Cemetery, she told NBC that the ground caved in beneath her, leaving her trapped in the plot above his casket.
“Beyond unfathomable,” Light said at the time. “I had to dig to get myself out of a hole.”
Now a retired nurse, Light is accused of pulling her blue Toyota into a restricted area near the courthouse and allegedly filming jurors as they left Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutors claim that when officers checked her phone, they found a deleted video of the jurors walking out.
Light reportedly insisted she was only waiting to catch a glimpse of Clancy, not recording the jury. Her attorney called the incident a “complete misunderstanding,” according to statements in court.
The judge declined to set a $50,000 bail but ordered Light to stay away from the courthouse, witnesses, and jurors. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison.
Separately, Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial Friday after jurors said they were deadlocked for a third time following 40 hours of deliberation. Clancy admits to killing her three children but argues it was due to postpartum psychosis.
