Happy Birthday to GENERAL HOSPITAL Star Kin Shriner – Relive Scotty’s Most Memorable Moments!

Please join us in sending best wishes to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kin Shrine                  r (Scotty), who celebrates his birthday today! Shriner is best known to daytime fans as attorney Scott Baldwin on GH, and has been appearing on the soap for over four decades. He also brought the character over to sister soap PORT CHARLES for a few years in 1997. But the veteran actor has also appeared on many other soaps across all the different networks, making him one of the most prolific soap-hoppers in the industry!

Shriner has admitted to being employed as a door-to-door salesman for the Fuller Brush Company before becoming an actor. He joined the cast of GH as Scotty in 1977 but left in 1980 to join the cast of the NBC soap TEXAS as Jeb Hampton. However, a year later, he was back in Port Charles where he stayed for another couple years.

From 1984-85, Shriner played Mike Gallagher on the short-lived syndicated soap RITUALS, then joined the cast of CBS’s THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL in 1995 to play Dr. Brian Carey. In 1997, the actor returned to the role of Scotty Baldwin, but this time on the GH spinoff PORT CHARLES. In 2000, Shriner brought the character back to GH but left in 2004 to join THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Harrison Bartlett. The following year, he moved over to AS THE WORLD TURNS where he played Keith Morrissey for a year.

Shriner returned to GH in 2007 for another year, popping back to Y&R in 2011 as a temporary fill-in for Ted Shackelford in the role of Jeffrey Bardwell. But he was back in Port Charles again in 2013 where he has remained ever since!
