Serena Williams has flashed back to her life before quarantine while being named as the newest global spokesperson for Stuart Weitzman, a career feat that was celebrated with the release of a stunning campaign starring the tennis star, who shot the images before the coronavirus pandemic took hold of the country.
The 38-year-old tennis pro looks every inch the fashion star in the black-and-white photos, which see her showing off her enviable athletic physique in a skin-tight white bodysuit, which is layered with a chic trench coat.
While striking a series of power poses, Serena also accentuates her long legs with a host of different shoe designs, including a pair of white pointed-toe pumps, some cool platform loafers, and glamorous strappy stilettos.

According to WWD, the campaign, which was shot in Palm Beach by photographer Ethan James Green, is aimed at ‘spotlighting women as pillars of hope and optimism for their communities’, an idea that is brought to life in the images, which capture Serena standing on different raised platforms.
And while the images were shot prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Serena believes that the campaign’s message is all the more poignant given the currently global situation.
‘Now more than ever, is a moment to focus on hope and moving forward,’ she said in a statement. ‘I want women of every generation to be inspired to do so, one step at a time.’
The brand added on Instagram: ‘Inspired by Serena, who herself has demonstrated resilience and courage to overcome obstacles throughout her career, the campaign reinforces the notion of women standing as pillars of hope and optimism for their communities.’
Serena’s campaign is the latest step in Stuart Weitzman’s partnership with non-profit organization Vital Voices Global Partnership, and will spotlight two women leaders who help to ‘lift up women of color who have stepped up to support vulnerable communities in the midst of the coronavirus’.
The tennis star worked with the shoe designer to choose those strong female role models: Sage Ke’alohilani Quiamno, cofounder of Future for Us, and Ashlee Wisdom, the founder of Health in Her Hue.

Serena follows in the footsteps of her close friend Gigi Hadid – who served as a spokesmodel for Stuart Weitzman for two years, from 2016 until 2018.
The two women are actually set to join forces on another very special project this weekend, when they will partner up in the Mario Aces Tournament ‘Stay at Home Slam’ on Sunday – taking on other teams such as Naomi Osaka and Hailey Bieber, Maria Sharapova and Karlie Kloss, and Serena’s sister Venus Williams, who will partner with DeAndre Hopkins.
Both Serena and Gigi have been hard at work practicing their skills, with pregnant model Gigi actually revealing that she injured her arm while getting ready for the online tournament.
‘I’ve been practicing a lot because if anyone’s more competitive than me it’s Serena,’ she told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on his evening show.
‘And, like, I cannot, like, lose our friendship over [this], you know what I mean?’ she joked.
But the girlfriend of Zayn Malik may have gone too far with her training.
‘We’re playing controller version but the first night I played, I practiced on swing mode and fully pulled my entire arm. Like, the next day, I couldn’t lift my arm. I couldn’t do anything.’
Training: Serena and Gigi will partner up for an online charity tennis tournament that is due to take place this Sunday – and the sports star has been training while in quarantine at home
Going for gold: The grand slam winner shared a hilarious social media video of herself playing a tennis match against herself while at home
Entertaining: Serena posted the sweet sporty clip to her Instagram and TikTok accounts
Serena meanwhile has had a bit more fun with her training.
At the end of April, the star shared an ingenious TikTok video of herself going up against herself in a hilarious at-home tennis match.
In the clip, the sports star is seen simulating a rigorous match in her backyard, cutting between different shots of herself wearing two different outfits.
‘Incredible rally and practice match,’ the Los Angeles native wrote in a caption, while noting that she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the simulated match.
Serena – who was the top-ranked tennis pro in the world eight different times between 2002-2017, once holding the spot for 186 consecutive weeks – donned two Nike ensemble for the showdown.
One was a white sleeves skirt that she wore with white shoes; the other was a red top with pink skirt.
Family: Serena is currently in quarantine at home with her husband Alexis Ohanian, 37, and their two-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr
Adorable: The tennis pro, seen with her daughter, has urged other people to do their part and ‘stay home’, insisting that it is ‘the one thing we can do to flatten the curve’
In the end, the incarnation of the star athlete clad in red prevailed.
At the end of the clip, both of the Serenas retreated to lounge chairs, as the victor in red told her alter ego, ‘You’re tough,’ to which the Serena clad in white countered, ‘You’re not so bad yourself.’
Serena, who shares two-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. with husband Alexis Ohanian, 37, has been locking down at her home with her family last month to quell the spread of the pandemic.
The tennis great opened up last month in an Instagram post about the importance of isolating amid the uncertain times of the coronavirus pandemic.
‘I’ve been staying at home and practicing social distancing,’ she said. ‘I want to make sure I’m doing my part during these uncertain times. Your actions matter and to #stayhome is one thing we can do to flatten the curve.
She also thanked people ‘who are out there taking care of us outside of your own home.’
