Lionel Messi has posted a snap of his family enjoying some free time with English pop star Ed Sheeran on Instagram.
WHAT HAPPENED? Messi, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, and the couple’s three sons – Mateo, Thiago and Ciro, posed for a picture with Ed Sheeran, who was performing near Miami on Sunday night.
The Messi family were also spotted singing along to Sheeran. Argentine journalist Roy Nemer shared footage of the clan singing along to Sheeran’s track Bad Habits.
THE BIGGER PICTURE: There wasn’t even a caption on the picture. But with Messi and Sheeran each among the world’s biggest names in their respective fields, it had already garnered two million likes – and counting – just half an hour after being posted.
WHAT NEXT FOR MESSI? After getting back to MLS action with Inter Miami to wrap the 2023 regular season over the weekend, Messi and Co. missed the playoffs by some distance. Instead of a post-season, they now prepare for back-to-back friendlies in China early next month.
