A tragic accident has claimed the life of Allison Rahmani, a dedicated Long Island teacher and mother of four, who reportedly suffered a medical emergency before her SUV crashed into a backyard pool. This heartbreaking incident unfolded at her family home in Hewlett on Friday.
Allison, 40, was behind the wheel when she lost control of her vehicle, driving it straight into the swimming pool. In a desperate attempt for help, she managed to call 911, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while en route to the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and believe that a medical episode may have contributed to the accident. At this time, foul play is not suspected, although the investigation remains active.
On Sunday, family and friends gathered to honor Allison’s memory at a funeral service held at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett. The day was particularly poignant as it was also the day she was supposed to embark on a romantic getaway to Paris with her husband, Matthew Rahmani, who leads the Irving Place Minyan Orthodox Synagogue in Woodmere.
Allison, who recently celebrated her milestone 40th birthday, served as the math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway. During her funeral, her husband paid a touching tribute by reciting the “Eshet Chayil,” a traditional Jewish wedding prayer honoring a wife’s virtues.
Her mother, Rachelle Rohde, addressed the mourners with deep sorrow, stating, “We are broken. We will never be the same.”
