In a heartwarming twist of fate, a loyal Labrador became an unexpected hero when he led police straight to his fugitive owner after a dramatic escape on an e-scooter. Charles Foy, 41, had attempted to evade officers in Runcorn, Cheshire, but left his four-legged companion behind when the chase took a wild turn.
The incident unfolded when police stopped Foy for riding his e-scooter illegally, with his two dogs in tow. However, the fast-paced chase proved too much for the Labrador, who couldnât keep up and was ultimately abandoned. In a remarkable display of loyalty, the clever dog guided officers right to Foyâs hiding spot.
Footage captured the moment as the police praised the pup, calling him a âgood boyâ while he led them down the street. After successfully directing the officers to his ownerâs residence, the Labrador hopped into a police car, seemingly proud of his role in the rescue.

Once inside the home, bodycam footage revealed officers searching for Foy, who was found hiding in the loft. When confronted, he defiantly responded, âCalm the f* down. Iâve been trying to get some sleep,â claiming he had not been riding the e-scooter that night due to the cramped living conditions.
Foy now faces serious consequences for his actions, having been convicted of multiple offenses, including failing to stop for police and driving without a valid license or insurance. He has been sentenced to three months in jail and banned from driving for over four years.
PC Mike Smith from Runcorn Response commented on the incident, highlighting the stark contrast between Foy’s lack of loyalty to his dog and the dog’s unwavering devotion. âThe pup ultimately remained loyal and provided us with a vital lead,â he noted, emphasizing the dangers posed by illegal e-scooter use.
As the story unfolds, many are left wondering: what will happen next for the loyal Labrador and his owner?
