A tragic incident has left a community in mourning after a drink and πΉπππ-fueled driver collided with three young boys, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Noah Campbell and serious injuries to two others. The heartbreaking crash occurred late at night in Bedfordshire, igniting a wave of grief and outrage.
Jamie Fountain, 24, was behind the wheel of a blue BMW 318D when he struck the boys as they rode their bicycle and scooter along Greenfield Road near Flitwick in April. Witnesses reported that Fountain briefly slowed down after the impact but then continued driving towards Flitwick around 11:40 PM, according to Bedfordshire Police.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but tragically, Noah was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The other two boys were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, leaving their families grappling with the aftermath of this devastating event.
In a ππ½πΈπΈππΎππ twist, Fountain’s abandoned vehicle was discovered shortly after the collision, leading police to locate and arrest him. At Northampton Crown Court, Fountain pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including causing death by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as causing serious injury to the other boys.
Noah’s family has expressed their profound sorrow, describing him as a “fun, bright, handsome, athletic and incredibly well-liked boy.” They shared that he treasured his time with friends and family, stating, βWe are utterly devastated; Noahβs death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.β
