In a heartwarming rescue that has captured the internet’s attention, firefighters in Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania, recently used their ‘jaws of life’ to save a stranded raccoon from a storm drain. The 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝓂𝒶 unfolded when a concerned local attempted to liberate the raccoon using a mixture of water and dish soap, but their efforts fell short. Rostraver Township Police Chief Scott Sokol shared with The Mon Valley Independent that despite these initial attempts, the raccoon remained trapped and in need of professional help.
Upon arrival, the fire crew quickly assessed the situation and decided to employ their powerful hydraulic tool, typically reserved for extricating individuals from vehicle accidents. After carefully removing the storm grate, they skillfully cut away enough metal to free the frightened raccoon.
