American Music Awards: Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes turn up the heat with a sultry rendition of Senorita as the couple lead the captivating performances at annual show

The former Fifth Harmony member, 22, and her musician beau, 21, performed the hit single just moments before the track scored them the Collaboration Of The Year prize
The couple – who first went public with their romance in July – were tactile throughout their passionate set as they stroked and warmly embraced each other
The duo had put on a similarly sultry display when they performed the single at the MTV Video Music Awards in August
Camila also took to the stage with Halsey and Taylor Swift, who later performed a striking duet with legendary singer Shania Twain
Viewers were also treated to performances by Billie Eilish, host of the evening Ciara and Christina Aguilera, as well as a passionate set by Selena Gomez – marking her first live show in two years

Their chart-topping duet won the Collaboration Of The Year prize at the annual American Music Awards on Sunday night.

And Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes proved why they were awarded with the prestigious gong as they put on a sultry performance of their single Senorita during the ceremony, held at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater earlier in the evening.

Turning up the heat, the former Fifth Harmony member, 22, and her musician beau, 21, packed on the PDA as they led the performances, with the likes of Ciara, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift commanding attention onstage at the star-studded show.

Despite walking the red carpet solo, the pair didn’t hold back on fanning the romance flames when showtime came around.

Camila ensured all eyes were on her as she slipped into a figure-hugging red gown, complete with tassels throughout.

Upping the style ante, the media personality teamed her head-turning ensemble with fishnet tights and a pair of suede thigh-high boots.

Later joining the singer was Treat You Better hitmaker, who displayed his musical talent as he sang while strumming his guitar simultaneously.

The couple – who first went public with their romance in July – were tactile throughout their passionate set as they stroked and warmly embraced each other.

Raising the roof, the pair maintained their sultry appearance as they held hands, before surprisingly opting not to finish their performance with a kiss. The duo had pulled the same stunt when they performed Senorita at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

During their rendition of Senorita, the camera panned to Taylor Swift in the audience. She was seen watching with her mouth open and looking quite emotional as Camila and Shawn almost embraced.

Camila and Shawn first worked together on the song I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 2015 and while they enjoyed their collaboration, the former Fifth Harmony member has said the time hadn’t been right for a romance.

Busy night: Later on, Camila returned to the stage for the first live performance of her new single Living Proof

Working it: The Cuban-born beauty put on a good show

‘Definitely there were feelings, but I think we were just too young to know what to do with them,’ she told The Sun in October.

More recently, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Camila explained: ‘I don’t think we knew what to do with those feelings. It was this awkward thing where we both liked each other, but we weren’t together. It was just weird.’

She added: ‘An energy was there from the beginning, but after that song, we didn’t spend as much time together. Our paths just didn’t cross in that way romantically until we started hanging out again and writing.’

Terrific trio: Camila returned to the stage for a third time to perform Shake It Off with Taylor and Halsey

Star power: It was part of Swift’s performance as she was named the Artist of the Decade

Belting it out: The trio put on quite a show in eye-catching numbers

What a woman! Taylor later paired her bedazzled gold bodysuit with a sheer pink cape as she joined legendary singer Shania Twain onstage

Commanding attention: The duo held hands as they captivated the crowd with their striking vocals

Versatile: The Bad Blood hitmaker, 29, slipped into a fringed one-piece with matching heels and sheer tights, before switching into an oversized shirt emblazoned with the words and numbers: ‘SPEAK NOW, RED, 1989’

It was a big night for Camila who also performed her new single Living Proof and then returned to the stage for a third time, joining Taylor Swift and Halsey in a rendition of Shake It Off.

For the first live performance of her single Living Proof, Camila wore a stunning white lace ensemble and was supported by a team of backup dancers also in white.

Living Proof is the first track to be released from her sophomore solo album Romance.

She’s back! Selena Gomez made her eagerly awaited comeback with a performance of new music at the ceremony, her first live TV performance in two years

Triumph return: The show opened to Selena singing while wearing a black gown

Centre stage: The venue was lit up with pictures of the TV, music and film star

In her element: Billie Eilish sets the stage on fire during a fierce rendition of her single All The Good Girls Go To Hell

Stars galore: Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day (L), Big Freedia (C) and Halsey (R) also took to the stage during the annual event

Messy fun: The artist hit the stage with a doppelganger as she performed the track

In charge: Christina Aguilera treated the crowd to her legendary powerhouse vocals for the debut live performance of her new single Fall On Me

She’s announced she will go out on tour next summer in support of the album.

The former Fifth Harmony member explained in a tweet : ‘I wanted this album to sound like what falling love feels like, pretty impossible thing to do but I can say I gave it all I had.’

And later in the night, Camila returned to the stage for a third time to perform Shake It Off with Taylor Swift and Halsey.

What an entrance: Host of the evening Ciara kicked off her presenting gig by descending from the ceiling to the stage sitting in a large round swing

Showtime: The dancer and singer, 34, later showed off her dance moves as she performed her brand new single Melanin, bringing the audience to its feet

Bootylicious: Dua Lipa took to the stage to perform her latest song Don’t Start Now while placing her hand on her derriere

Punk style: Post Malone looked every inch the rocker as he performed in a spiked leather jacket covered in skulls
