THE KARDASHIANS have never been the types to turn away a cash spinning opportunity.
Whether it be Kim’s 𝑠e𝑥 tape landing a reality TV show that changed her entire family’s life, or flogging their worn clothes for thousands online.

But recently Kim, 43, has been slammed for selling a filthy Birkin on the family’s second-hand clothing website, Kardashian Kloset.
Here, Fabulous investigates why the multi-billion dollar family are selling off their tattered clothes, and if it’s really worth the money.
It’s suggested that Kim alone is worth $1.7billion dollars, while her youngest sibling, Kyle Jenner, was already worth $1billion by the time she hit 21.
The mum-of-four has always been business savvy, becoming a producer on the hit show the Kardashians, launching SKIMS (worth $4billion alone) and her own skincare line, SKNN.
So with so much money in the bank, why exactly would they need to sell their clothes?
HOARDING ON
The website reads: “Our goal at Kardashian Kloset is to share a part of the Kardashian Jenner family lifestyle by offering you the opportunity to own one of a kind items, while promoting sustainability.
“As our leader, ‘“’Momager’”’ Kris Jenner says, ‘“’Shop til you drop!'”
Prices on the website mostly range in the thousands, with a collection of rare designer goods such as vintage Jean Paul Gautier to Gucci.
At the moment, Kim has $180k (£140,000) worth of Hermes bags on the site she is trying to pawn off to fans.
Seriously how desperate are they for money?

While the family claim selling off their wardrobe promotes sustainability, a previous episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians suggests that’s not at the forefront of their minds.
Kim was filmed in a literal ‘wardrobe warehouse’ – a huge studio space filled to the brim with old outfits she had worn – and that’s not including the walk-in handbag or clothes closets in her $60million LA mansion.
“I have thousands and thousands of clothes; I think I have, like, 30,000 pieces,” she said as she looked through her archived wardrobe.
And Kim doesn’t appear to be in need of any extra cash, especially with her multiple successful business ventures – including her new investment firm SKKY.
Perhaps, flogging her second-hand clothes is just a way to make space in her ever-growing wardrobe?
PRICED OUT
While some items are labelled with the designer, others, such as this mini pink PVC and leather backpack, have no brand to their name – yet it’s being sold on Kim’s ‘Kloset’ for just shy of $2,000 (£1,560).
Most recently, the entrepreneur has been slammed for selling a ‘filthy’ Birkin bag for $69,995 (£5,470).
The bag itself, is a rare alligator leather 30′ Hermes Birkin in an even rarer colour called ‘Ciment.’
The listing online says it is in good condition – albeit for some discoloration on handles and underside bottom corners, and minor scratching on metal hardware.
The discolouration is even more obvious because of the pale grey colour of the bag which has left the handles looking muddy.
Taking to Reddit, people slammed Kim for her apparent greed in flogging the dirty bag for such a massive price.
“Seriously how desperate are they for money? And why does no one find it strange that these ‘billionaires’ are selling their second hand clothes,” wrote one.
“This is so embarrassing. Why don’t they get it restored by H before selling it?” another asked.
A third chimed in: “70k for a dirty bag, holy hell!”
But the issues don’t stop there, the bag, despite using alligator leather, doesn’t come with a CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of wild fauna and flora) certificate – meaning whoever coughs up the cash for the designer tote won’t be able to leave the country with it.
Hermes bosses say its important to ask for a CITES certificate when purchasing a bag from them as you can be stopped at customs when travelling and have the bag confiscated if you don’t provide proof.
“A fate none of us wish ever to entertain,” they add.

BANG FOR YOUR BUCK?
While people are up in flames over the hefty price tag, Love Luxury’s Emily Abraham spoke to Fabulous on whether it was really worth the price.
The short answer from the expert luxury re-seller was that it wasn’t – although it is a little bit more complicated than that.
This particular one doesn’t have any CITES, that in itself can prove quite a big issue.

Emily says: “So this particular bag I would expect to sell for between £35,000 to £40,000 on the secondary market, for anybody who is a regular seller.”
The luxury seller added that the damage to the handles was normal and can happen if they are not protected – which is why Hermes offers silk twillies to wrap the handles in.
“This is quite a rare shade, the Ciment with the gold hardware, you tend to see cooler tones with the palladium hardware,” she explains.
“This particular one doesn’t have any CITES, that in itself can prove quite a big issue – it means it can’t move anywhere outside of the US.
“I do feel like it’s overpriced, however, the fact that Kim owned it, obviously there’s a huge fan base for her and will add it’s own kudos to the piece.”
Emily adds: “For me, it’s probably double what it’s worth – I would expect for it to sell for about $35,000 (£27,300).”
