Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling claims Conor Gallagher isn’t the only teammate that has incredible stamina.
Unsurprisingly, Raheem Sterling did pick out Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher when discussing players that don’t stop running. He’d certainly be our first choice pick in that department!
In addition, Blues stars Ben Chilwell and Malo Gusto received a mention.
When asked which players never stop running, Sterling told STATSports: “There’s a few in our team, Malo Gusto, yeah, Conor, Chilly, their lungs are different.”

Chilwell does have an incredible engine on him, which is why the left wing-back position suits him particularly well.
The £50 million defender (Sky Sports) has had his injury problems over the years, but he’s been fit for the last couple of months fighting to hit top form. Unfortunately, Chelsea confirmed via their official website today that Chilwell’s now been hit with another fresh injury problem.
Journalist Nizaar Kinsella shared via X last summer during pre-season that Chilwell was among the top Chelsea performers in the famed Gacon test, which measures an individual’s fitness.
Meanwhile, speaking via talkSPORT earlier this season, Stuart Pearce described Chilwell as “very athletic”.
He can make a real difference to the Blues XI when he’s fit and firing. Likewise, we think Gareth Southgate should take him in the England squad to Euro 2024 this summer. Of course, only if this new injury setback isn’t serious.
Pochettino’s sides historically play with a lot of energy and intensity, but it feels like everything is still waiting to fully click into gear in west London. His great Tottenham side from several years ago became very recognisable, one reason being it was consistently the same group of starting players that weren’t injury prone.
